10oz pour into snifter at THG.
A: Pours a burnt copper color with an oily and dense dark tan head that faded into a wispy film. Sheets of spotty sticky lace were left down the glass.
S: Hops dominate the nose but there is a nice lightly toasted quality. Hops smell resinous and with a good dose of grapefruit bitterness.
T: Hops are a combination of juicy citrus mixed with resinous, greasy, super fresh floral hops. Malt is toned down for a red ale but I get hints of bread crust, toast, and slight caramel. The finish is leafy and has a touch of powdery chocolate and faint leather. The aftertaste is roasted but mostly juicy, greasy, semisweet and bitter. Nice lingering sweet fruity residual sweetness.
M: Medium body with a sticky and oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Solid bitterness. Nice greasy sweetness. Bitterness isn't overpowering. Very balanced for being so potent.
O: Very fruity and super hoppy. Hop oil coats my mouth and is pleasant to drink. Drinks more like a dipa, although there is a solid bit of roast.

This so strange! It tastes like marijuana bong water but feels like a warm Sumer breeze. I really cannot enjoy or dislike this beer, but I definitely do not recommend it! It’s like comfortable torture if you like that kind of stuff.

Picked this up for the weed references, stayed for the red ale.
Red ale pours red. Its a darker auburn and mahogany like red. 1/3" off white almost beige cream colored head. Good aromatics here, really sets itself apart from 98% of other red ales, even hoppy red ales. Not really sure of the malt bill, red maltings always give me a more difficult time isolating hop notes. Gonna go with CTZ and Chinook. There is something else though, I dunno, Citra and/or Mosaic are all the rage, could even be Strata. Just has more variance in the type of notes, there's weed, pine and a fruit mixture. Its nice even if I can't put my finger on the most likely suspect(s).
Body is relatively big, but not problematic, doesn't have the trappings of most imperialized hoppy red ales, that is too thick, syrupy, solely bittering hops kind of vibe, but this divies up the hop notes well, citrus, tropical, weed, pine, tree bark, its all there. Heck the can I had wasn't even all that fresh. Would definitely like to try this with less than 60 days on it, but even then, upper echelon stuff in every way.

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on April 27, 2019. An imperial red ale, which combines a malty foundation, a dank/resinous hop character, but finishes dry with lots of hop flavor. This beer will for sure heal your pain! Throw on some Bob, kick back and enjoy the DANK.

Part of the 4/20 4-pack, consumed 4/24/18
L: Deep dark amber read with a small head that left very good lacing.
S: Good, balanced mix of tropical & citrus fruits, danky hops, and toasted malts. The more I smell it the more I like it.
T: Danky, resinous, and piney hops far more prominent here, everything else from the aroma falls into the background.
F: Medium-full, decent carbonation, very solid and strong bitterness, clean & dry finish.
O: This beer got to the point and hit the mark, definitely delivering on the danky weed name. This is NOT a double IPA - it is an imperial strength red ale.
