Pours an exceptional clear golden amber color with 1 inch head retention. Strong aroma of tropical fruits; papayas, mangos, and more. Taste is smooth and well balanced. About 50% hop flavor %50 malt. The hops are fruity and citrus. The malt profile is caramel. This is my favorite tropical IPA. An added plus is that it's easy to find fresh.

Canned on 11/21/18 opened on 2/28/19

Clear golden color, pretty relaxed look, soft but rather thin white cover of foam is quick to fade. Plenty of sticky lacing leftover but little foamy coverage is left in the ling run.

A very mild tropical fruitiness in the hop dominated aroma. Pineapple and vanilla, dry corn stalks, sun soaked golden wheat grain, sweet citrus orange and white grape juice are all obvious and rather delightful. A mild, sweet and crisp pilner malt scent is detected as well.

For whatever reason, most West coast brewed IPA's have a very distinct, amber/honey and soyr bready taste, the hops are usually bitter, pine and citrus based, but these hops have a much more New England style flavor wheel. Juicy tones of white tropical fruits, mango, pineapple and honeydew melon prevail. So its really a very nice hybrid of both coasts.

The mouthfeel starts out light and crispy with a grainy/dry hop bite and then because juicy, then malty slick to finish. Once again, coastal hybrid of IPA styles.

Overall, I love the rathet complex single malt edge with a nice fruity and earthy bite from the versatile Mosiac and Citra hops. Easy to drink and fun to ponder.

Can from Craig, thanks for the hookup.
Fairly clear golden in color with a good sized bubbly white head with moderate retention. Bready maltiness with plenty of earthy dank spicy citrusy hops. Pretty nice west coaster.

Ended up pouring this into a tulip, oh well, but I think I figured out what was supposed to be going on for this American styled IPA.
The appearance was a nice looking transparent golden color. Slim cap of a little white foamy head. Moderate sticky lace.
The aroma had a semi-danky to hop oily sweet yet grassy to oniony glazed sort of earthiness. Clean and with a touch of peach skin.
The flavor leans to the sweetness initially but trying it's presenting a fair danky oily grassy backing that it's hard to show too much sweetness here. In turn, the aftertaste is quick, semi-danky with a touch of sweet and slightly oily.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under and having a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good as an American IPA. ABV felt on par.
Overall, pretty nice as an AIPA leaning into a nice danky sweet onion mentality. I could have again.

Very mild in smell and initial taste. Looks pretty lite in color, but not as lite as it looks. Somewhat dry with no deep flavor to identify. Good mild beer. Mild look, mild smell, mild taste...

Part of the 4/20 4-pack, consumed 4/21/18

Poured a gorgeous clear honey colored with a decent, thick head that left good lacing.

Aroma is tropical goodness - strong, bright, clean.

Taste and feel are a bit lesser, surprisingly thin and light. Ok carbonation, easy bitterness.

Decent West Coast style IPA, drinks pretty light for the ABV. It's actually really easy drinking for sure.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Poured from a small growler. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a slight head that dissipates to a light ring around the glass. Aroma of light caramel and pale malt, citrus, lightly dank hops, mildly floral. Flavor is caramel malt, lots of tropical fruit led by pineapple, citrus and piney hops, light onion. Finishes with nice lingering fruit forward and piney hops, an odd combination of seeming mildly hopped, but leaving fairly intense herbal hop flavors in its wake. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Really lives up to its name, lots of tropical fruit as well as the more West Coast pine and citrus flavors. A bit sneaky, it doesn't taste that hoppy up front, but leaves intense residual hoppiness and flavor. This is quite good. It showed up right at fresh hop season, so I put off trying it, but I'm glad I did. It is well made, very flavorful and makes me want to try other ales from this brewery. Nicely done.

On tap at the Bistro 19th ipa festival. This won either gold or people's choice, I can't remember.

Pours an innocent looking enough yellow, drops a thin white head projected at about 1/4" on a full pour. Aroma hits both the citra and mosaic notes, plenty of citrus, tropical earthen funk you up. Dank as they say.

Taste imparts a ton of hop flavors with very minimal bitterness. Probably no higher than 55 ibus. Excellent mouthfeel, light, dry super cracker pale malt body. Even a little bit of garden vegetable sweet onion and garlic notes to it, light and complimentary, not massive like old school Gubna.

They really made a solid ipa that drinks very lightly but drops plenty of flavor. Would love to have a 5 gal of this by the pool for summer.

On-tap at THG. Keg is about a day old, if that.

A: Served a clear light golden with a thick cap of dense bright white foam that lasted the whole beer through. Sticky sheets of lace were left down the glass.
S: Tropical nose mixed with tangerine. Mild pale malt backbone. Super clean smelling.
T: Light onion/garlic but mainly super fresh flavors of citrus with a touch of pale, crackery malt. Finish is slightly minty, mildly bready. Onion up front for sure, but not as off putting as other beers. Mint in the finish but nothing really lingers. Tropical favors and clean malt in the aftertaste. Very clean. No bitter lingering.
M: Creamy medium body, soft carbonattion, low bitterness. Very soft and smooth.
O: Super clean and quaffable. Loving this beer. Just an awesome mix of hop flavors and light malt. Amazing.

EDIT: I've consumed this beer countless times on tap across various batches and do not note any onion/garlic as my review above states. It must have been something about that batch, as subsequent batches have been juicy/tropical all the way. This is currently one of my favorite beers of all time; score adjusted.

Draught pour at Tankhouse into a shaker pint. Holy tropical Batman. A very tropical juicy nose that brings those elements to the start of the taste but finishes dry and moderately bitter. Carbonation was good with solid body. A well done and enjoyed IPA I'd happily order again most any time I see it.

Drank this bad boy last night on cask, cold I should add, something done on occassion @ Ale Arsenal. As I grab the pint and realize its cold I start to tell bartender but he quickly adds we keep that at just cold.
Fantastic head, golden barely orange color in this brew.
Dank aromas junping out of the glass. Some mango/tropical scents here.
Boom, hoppy-trop-Mangoe's. Ive enjoyed Altamont IPA's in the past but this is a unique balance, not overly bitter. By far my favorite by these guys
Sorry but reviewing off memory last night, just remember the cask had Mangoe added...will edit review if I have sgain soon.

I had this beer at the Martinez ca beer fest, it's amazing! Very Danky beer! Delicious , one of the best if not best ipa ever! I highly recommend goin out to Livermore ca to their tasting room. They only sell growlers and tasters, so there is no food or pints that are served.

Served on tap at Ale Arsenal.

Pours clear and light. Good lacing. The smell is strongly hoppy and garlickier than remembered. Still a good blast of fruit. The taste is light, sweet, citrusy, and earthy bitter. I think this keg is older than the last I had. Mouthfeel is crisp and delicious. A good, very good, IPA. Highly recommended.

On tap at Ale Arsenal a week or two ago, reviewing from notes.

Poured a golden yellow with medium white head. A huge tropical fruit smell is the first thing you notice, but mostly this beer showcases some spectacular hops. While I can't say for sure what variety (Mosaic?) it's something modern and worth trying. Easy drinking, good bitterness. Recommended.

I had this beer at Ale Arsenal in San Carlos, Ca. It was served in a pint glass.
The notes on this beer will be brief, since I waited to review this beer. I had to up my beer advocate account to be allowed to enter a new beer. Hard work trying so many beers to become qualified.
Overall I really liked this beer. I would have it again, but it is hard to find. For a single IPA it had good aroma and hop flavor. They say they use Mosaic and Citra hops.
