A more tropical approach to your “West Coast”-style IPA - Maui Waui has proven to be one of our more popular beers! This single malt IPA is light in color and body with a soft bitterness. The Mosaic and Citra hops give strong aromas and flavors of guava, pineapple, and mango.

A gift from my brother, this is an impressive IPA from this new to me brewery.

The beer pours a fairly clear golden amber color with good head retention and considerable lacing all around. This is an attractive IPA for sure. On the nose I get considerable orange citrus and light tropical fruit. Not bad, but not as intense as I was expecting given the hop variants in this beer (mosaic and citra). The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely... it's good, but I'm not getting as much flavor as I expected given the hop variants. The finish is dry with light bitterness, and the finish is quite clean. Mouthfeel is medium bodied at most, with nearly undetectable alcohol. This is the sort of IPA you feel like you could drink all day without much effort.

While nothing extraordinary, this is an enjoyable, easy to drink and appreciate IPA. Would likely order again given the opportunity.

Smells dank and resiny at first then warms up and the tropical fruits come out more.

Definitely get a lot of pineapple, mango, orange flavors upfront then some "sweaty" dankness in the middle with resinous pine bitterness on the back end with a little herbal coming through underneath. Nice brew

On tap at Dad's in Sacramento - shaker pint of west coast IPA deliciousness. This has been a go to at establishments such as this one on the regular. Slightly fruity with mellow malt and a mild bitterness.

Appearance: pours a clear, pale golden color. A white one finger foam head that lacks retention, but leaves behind a little bit of lacing.

Aroma: Very aromatic. Really piney with strong herbal notes, apricot, and a notable sweetness.

Taste: a well-balanced of citrus, pine, and tropical fruits. Guava and grapefruit. A very mellow bitterness that lingers around a bit.

Overall: this is an interesting brew. The aroma is what stuck out for me most of all. This one isn't incredibly complex, but the balance is really good.

Pours a clear amber with rings of foam in the pint nonic. Prickly and sudsy on the tongue. Quite aromatic with apricot and pine. Pleasant fruity taste, some canned peaches with a bitter edge. Distinct malty sweetness, perhaps more than most IPAs.

I would not have thought of a guava taste in beers, but this seems to be the case here, more in the aroma. Bitterness goes into the red zone after some sipping, though the flavors are interesting. From the 16 oz can purchased at Healthy Spirits. Dated 11/29/21.

16 oz can (“Maui Mondays 7/26/21”) poured into a plastic cup, poolside at the Claremont Hotel pool (Berkeley, CA). Nearly clear, pale golden yellow, with a good head of white foam and streaks of lace. Aromas of citrus, pine and tropical fruit. Flavor follows with a light malty body elevated by well balanced citrus, pine and tropical fruit (guava, pineapple). Light body and lively carbonation. A full and balanced West Coast IPA with nicely tropical leaning hop notes.

Picked-up a single can at Stowe Publik House in Stowe, Vermont as part of a mixed four-pack for twenty dollars. Have never heard of this brewery before (distribute to MA?). This is excellent.
