Really nice vibe here - very clean and orderly. I never had bad food here - ever as their wings are fantastic, pizza is awesome and that mushroom poutine is, well, I'll just say absolutely phenomenal! Taps are usually HF, Lawson's, some Hermit Thrush, Frost BW, Fiddlehead, Ten Bends, and Good Measure. They do a good job of keeping up with the peak crowd times. Give it a shot when in Waterbury.

Nice spot, usually easier to get a seat than PP or BB but still gets quite crowded.

We sat at the bar and ordered smaller size pizza's. The pizza's are yuppie style, not traditional toppings and cooked thin crusted in a brick oven. Good quality ingredients and inventive. Cracked egg on mine added a great layer of complexity to the flavors.

Above average beer menu. Similar to what other places in Waterbury can offer. HF, Lawson's, etc.

A good change of pace to the pub fair offered at other Waterbury locations.

Really can't believe I never checked this place out, as many times as I've gone to Waterbury. I'd always assumed the trio of Blackback-Reservoir-ProPig were the main players in town, but now I have to add the Blue Stone to the list. And of course, it's literally a weakling's stone throw away from the other places, like right around the corner. Nice general pub vibe, friendly service. More "diverse" tap list than the other nearby bars perhaps, meaning there are more breweries represented, with less taps dedicated to HF, Alchemist, etc. Not saying that's a good or bad thing, it just is what it is, and there still are lots of local VT goodies on, as well as fresh Alchemist cans of course. I don't remember exactly what I got to eat, but I remember it was good and in very good portion...aka come hungry (and thirsty).

I like this place a lot. Maybe not as much as Blackback or Reservoir, but it's definitely a step above [the overrated] ProPig. I will be revisiting in the future.

A real solid taplist, one that is just on par with the usual local joints serving Alchemist, Lawson's and Hill Farmstead. There aren't many taps, and only so many bottle offerings, but there is easily something good to find on tap.

The bigger draw though is the pizzas. Excellent pie here, and get whatever is special and drawn up for the time, normally consisting of in season ingredients. Decent service here as well too, and it was definitely one of the memorable places for food I had while visiting the area.

This has become by go-to late night stop in Waterbury. The pizza here is phenomenal and makes for the perfect late night snack after a night at the beer bars in town. The beer quality has also improved greatly over the past year or so. There is typically one HF tap and cans of Heady and Sip. You can also sometimes find Focal here too.

My first stop during a road trip to eat/grab a beer. The staff was very friendly, the food is pretty good. The beer selection isn't huge, but there are 5 or 6 quality beers that any beer lover can appreciate. Had my first Heady Topper here, and I've gotta say, the reviews don't lie - one of the most drinkable dIPA's I've ever had. Definitely worth stopping by whether a local or just passing through.

Haven’t ‘et since that avocado BLT this morning in Warren, and now having just returned from Greensboro Bend to find B&J’s a total touristy mess (people, I just want a fuckin’ 2 scoop cone), I wander Waterbury looking for food and drink. The holy trilogy explored, I was looking to see what’s up above now that my taco fix had been upended. Blue Stone does pizza and has beer, ‘nuff said. On the strip of Stowe, yo...

Large split tree ‘L’ bar with seating for 15 on hightop wood chairs. Barback is counter of the same with tiered booze below a center framed mirror angled. Dangle stemware to both sides and shelving on the ends with glassware, wine, & pieces. Plank above with tap handles displayed. Seems they’re not random, they mirror what’s on tap below (Those being nondescript wood handles), and flats to each side. Glassware more, shelved below the bar.

Large windows up front, awned. Walls in a deep red. Burgundy, I think they call it. Slat wood floors and crazy high ornate ceilings with crown moldings. Drop filament bulb martini glass lighting tracing the bar, clustered trio track spots with a single spinny fan across the floor, and blue Bali mason jarred tea candles along the bar. The room is done with old tools; a scythe (not a toy, not a toy, not a toy), and a St. Anselm worthy saw, plus a giant safe, watering cans, framed prints of something, and a few barrels. Blackboard pizza specials on vertical boards and a horizontal draft beer board to the rear. There are roughly a dozen tables between the front and rear spaces high & low, including a cool slab slatelike topped piece and some counter space, too.

Rear room space looks in on the primarily pizza kitchenings. A moose head skeleton, looooong framed horizontal mirrors, a small corner flat, and a large mixing bowl with attached mixing apparatus off a table in the middle of the room.

Stainless steel 6 tap ‘T’ towers on each end of the bar, and a smaller 4 tap ‘T’ and 3 tap cylinder in between, all with nondescript handles. 19 taps; roughly 2/3 of them Vermont offerings (a $7/12oz pour of Alchemist Heady Topper, Fiddlehead IPA, Lost Nation Saison Lamoille, Zero Gravity Conehead Wheat IPA, Covered Bridge Lucky Me, Switchback Ale, Drop-In Sunshine and Hoppiness, Northshire Equinox Pilsner, Long Trail Limbo, Trapp Family Lodge Golden Helles Lager, Wolavers Oatmeal Stout), including a pair of Vermont ciders (Champlain Orchards Pruner’s Pride cider, Citizen Cider The Dirty Mayor). The remainder are a mix of regional craft (Maine Peeper, Allagash White, Jack’s Abby Jabby Brau, Sixpoint Bengali, Victory Hop Devil, DogFishHead 60 Minute IPA). I got talking with a few guys from Winconsin out here on a work stint, and Alchemist Heady Topper, Fiddlehead IPA, Zero Gravity Conehead, & Jack’s Abby Jabby Brau happened.

Forwent the aforementioned intended pizzaings for wings; spicy Cajun rub or something. They had heat, probably still do. Samtending, this afternoon, she’s plenty fun and may stay. Good tunes, and a very timely ‘The Night they drove old Dixie down’, pre-Saklad lots of acoustic and bluegrass, otherwise. Heady cans for $7.50, a few canned macros & import meh, and a dozen wines, too. Good, clean, comfortable place with a solid draft selection and a handsome food menu. Blue Stone is now in my Waterbury rotation.

First off, outstanding little pizza joint. Very creative special pizzas, as well as the regular crowd-pleasers (cheese, pepperoni, et al). Pizza was solid, if not amazing.

Beer selection is very representative of local Vermont brews, with some other craft options from around the nation. Definitely a great spot to try some of the local pilgrimage offerings: Heady, HF, Lost Nation, etc.
