Bottle on RBSG bus. Not digging this same way others were. Clear dark golden , small foamy white head. Aroma is pure hops, pine sol and citrus, like floor cleaner. Taste gets dank quick, not in an enjoyable way. To each his own I guess, but I didn’t think this was that good.

Tap pour at AA in Eureka CA. Served chilled in a pint glass.
Mostly clear, pale gold colored body. Minimal white head. Leaves behind partial rings and spots of lacing.
Aroma of citrus and pine.
Taste is orange, grapefruit, and pine. Solid caramel malt base. Overall sweet but has an herbal and definitely a bitter bite at the end. Gentle flavor fade in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. No sting nor burn. Okay carbonation.
In the style of a West Coast IPA but with a bite rather than extreme bitterness.

Appearance: Pours a golden amber color, with a somewhat retentive foam head.
Aroma: malty, bready, buttery.
Taste: Malty, floral qualities. A little bit bready.
Overall: This is quite the unique IPA. The hops are present but not forward, malts dominate this one. I find it to be enjoyable. Would definitely buy again for a variety sake.

A decent modern WC IPA. It's mediocre but good news is it's simple and you can taste the malt and hops. My main gripe is the mouth feel, it's not great. It's thin with almost no carbonation. You drink this beer and aren't satiated. It's overall decent though, which is why I gave it a pretty good score.

As a lover of hoppy beers I asked the man at the man at the bar for a sampling of some similar flavored beers. After tasting a few I discovered Hexagenia IPA. It was after the first sip. I knew quickly that this is the one that I wanted because the flavor was so exceptional!

Beer looks like it belongs outside. Dirty and beautiful. Smell is charcoal and caramel. Taste is slightly sweet like a marshmallow but bitter enough and has a bit of a charcoal/wood finish. Very rare taste for a beer that I haven't found elsewhere. Overall, this is one of the best single-hop IPAs you'll taste, period.

Brilliant orange-bronze color with an off-white, sticky lacing that hangs around on an unwashed glass until the next morning. Classic west coast IPA aroma of candied citrus on the nose; you can get some pineapple if you think about it, but this is mostly in the semi-sweet citrus vein.
There's a hint of upfront sweetness that lends an early soft floral note. A burst of orange and citrus zest mid-palate, set off by a shadow of lingering malt sweetness, turns quickly to a long, bitter, wonderfully grapefruit-rind-like finish. The body has something to it, and it leaves a bit of a hoppy oil slick on the palate, extending the deliciousness well beyond the swallow.
This isn't a particularly old school IPA, but it's by no means in the modern style. It hits all the right notes for me, and I consider it one of the best flagship IPAs of any brewery.

L: A deep filthy orange with a finger of stick dark beige head leaving splotches of lace all over.
S: This is a malty one akin to wonder bread wholesomeness. Plenty of pine and a buttery thing tying it together just fine.
T: Follows the nose. This one is quite floral on the palate as well.
F: Sticky medium weight tending towards the double. Fine carbonation and balanced bitter and sugar.
O: Like if your hunting buddy brew his own beer, this one has a backyard bluntness, but otherwise impressive balance.

Subdued pineapple-piney hoppy nose on this one. Taste follows okay, but loses the pineapple and finishes with piney bitterness. It has decent depth and feel for a single.
