Head down a winding, dimly-lit staircase into a below-the-street timewarp of 1950s sensibility, English beers on tap and brown, Fleur-de-lis panelled wallpaper. Fleur-de-lis in an English pub? Go figure. Regardless, there's a hand-pull pump, complete with sparkler, but attached to an Australian brown ale, rather than the three English offerings on tap (Tetley's, Old Peculier and London Pride the day I visited).
There are maybe eight other taps, mostly Australian macro offerings and the odd, orphan-looking craft option. Seats line the long, wood-panelled bar, and there are two tabled areas for dining at either end. One of those ends has a big screen for the cricket and no doubt also the Premier League. It's a small, long space inside, and they're using every inch of it.
This is pretty much how I imagine an English pub in 1950 presented itself, tv aside, and I'm a fan of it!
Food unrated as I didn't eat there.
Cheers!

Interesting little hidden nook, worth a visit. A good range of English beers on tap and in bottles, which is worth the visit alone. Don't expect hipsters serving fruity craft beer though - that's why I like it!
Recently returned and had Samuel Smith's oatmeal stout! Upgraded my rating as a result.
