Poured from a 16oz can into a Simon Pearce Tulip glass

Vibrant, deep orange with two fingers of white head

Light floral bouquet, a bit of sweet citrus. Caramel malt makes itself aware here, but balances nicely with the hops.

Citrus zest comes through on the taste, as well as grapefruit and peach.

Really well balanced backbone....malt is there, but it lets the hops shine through. Slightly sweet without being syrupy, and moderate carbonation.

Excellent offering, great example of a West Coast IPA

Pours a thin head on a hazy straw body.
The aroma is lots of mango and pineapple, really nice.
The taste starts a little watery, then a good grapefruit and pine bitterness, and finishes with a little fruit sweetness.
The texture is crisp.
Great aroma and nice flavors.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Abide by March 23rd 2016.

Deep golden amber body color, with a touch of unfiltered quality but with some clarity to the body though. Good amount of fine fast rising bubbles, reaching to a nearly three finger thick head, that has some soapy retention an quickly settles to just under two fingers with an off white color.

The hop aroma is a great balance on subtlety, and sweet malts and candy. Sweet hop florals mixing with light icing sugar and perhaps a hint of tropical and orange sticking around. A good complimenting sugary sensing malt matching as well, not so much caramel thick but almost crisp toffee smelling that compliments nicely adding a good contrast to some of the hop bitterness. Some cookie biscuit malt qualities might be hanging out in here as well.

Palate compliments well with no surprises, but also with an interesting touch. Almost a session IPA like feel but slightly bolder in flavor and texture. Cookie dough like malts and a lightly juiced orange and tangerine profile in the mid palate. Finishes nearly crisp and dry, but some soft malt depth manages to coat and keep it away from chalky territory along with some juicy hops.

Not a hopheads dream but a good solid take on an IPA that's very different. Excellent IPA of a beer.

10-11-16 - On tap at The Library in Los Angeles. Served in a pint glass. Look is bubbly and refreshing. Not too much aroma. Taste was closer to a pale ale rather than a hoppy IPA. Still, easily quaffable so I had to have a few. Happiest beer here. I'll get it again if the only IPA on tap.

A- clear copper color, thin but nice looking head
S- kinda malty, not too bad but some more hops would be nice
T- interesting flavor, not as hoppy as I would like though, slightly more malty than hoppy
M- medium bodied
D- It's pretty good. I probably wouldn't buy it again though.

Nice ochre yellow, murky, thin head with many wee bubbles, great lacing.

Sour citrus, malty scent. Inviting!

a cornucopia of tropical herbs and creamy fruit, citrus bliss. Light on the pine, moderate grapefruit. Feels like I've been here before, quite cozy!!

Not unlike a Sierra Nevada Torpedo, with a touch more booze!
Fiery California twilight, walked in the evening heat to pick this up, to the bottom of me Hobbit hill, so no bad traffic worries!!

Poured into a nonic pint glass.

Look: Cloudy, hazy light burnt orange color, hinging on pale yellow. The head is light cream colored and huge, never really dissipated. Massive sheets of lacing.

Aroma: Light wood and pine with fruity notes of mango and orange.

Taste: Soft sweet malts up front with layers of pine and citrus zest on top. Finish gets a bit bitter with bright hops and grapefruit notes.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, a little dry and at the same time creamy.

Overall: Pleasantly surprised by this one. Nothing overpowering, well balanced. Lacing left my glass as dirty as ever.

Can poured into fluted snifter. Can foamed out when I opened it. It had been still in the fridge for a week or more, so not shaken.

Pours golden, copper, thick foamy white head.

Aroma is sweet toasty malts, citrus pith, pine.

Flavor has a heavy dose of malt sweetness, but does not overpower the earthy pine and citrus hops.

A bit too bubbly, medium mouth feel.

Enjoyable balanced old school IPA.
