Pours a rich, nearly-opaque caramel-amber, with a fairly large head of fine bone foam. Lovely lattice-style lace.

Nose is a malty caramel and toffee. Very nice, and exemplary for the style.

Taste is tangy and toasty malts, with a touch of light citrus hops that comes in at the finish. A perfectly palatable, enjoyable, and drinkable amber ale. Solid and worthy!

Poured from the keg at "Just Tap'd" in Warner-Robins, GA. This is an amber colored beer with a small white head. It has a malt flavor that is very pleasing. I would drink this again. A good beer.

Pours a slightly hazed auburn with a pinky of sand colored head. Never quite clears, average head retention & above average lacing

S: A little breadyness & caramel

T: Bready, biscuitty malt, a little pine to balance it out up front, some dryness & herbal hops. Maltyness, a little caramel, & herbal hops as this warms. Finishes with a little caramel & breadyness, plus woody & herbal hop bitterness

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, nice balance

Drinks too easy, good take on the style, worth a try

A different take on a wheat beer. Not sure how exactly I feel about this one. Nothing really stand out about this one.

Both ambers and wheat ales often come off a bit underwhelming, lets see how this one pans out.

Pours to a deep ruby amber in tone. Head is an off white quick fading foam that struggles to achieve an inch in height. Nose comes with soft woodsy malt as well as a candied sweetness that is also noticeable. There is even a bit of cola on the smell. Taste is surprisingly bold with a rich malt backbone. The balanced sweetness of this brew twirls with the smoothness of the wheat. This is a very very drinkable brew. I could easily drink this one all day and not miss a beat.

look: hazy amber with a light tan head. some fairly thick lacing that mostly recedes.
smell: caramel malt with earthy, grapefruit notes.
taste: Drier than the nose. Grapefruity hops supersede the malt here, with a slightly bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle, no bottled on date present. Another new one to me from Carson's Brewery, acquired a single bottle of this stuff as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. 'Amber Wheat Ale' 5.50% abv listed on my bottle.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a nice dark caramel / copper colored body with one finger of thick frothy beige head that leaves some sticky spotty fluffy lacing behind.

S - A fairly tame aroma, mainly comprised of cereal grains, caramel, wheat, & some yeast. Some light indistinct fruitiness.

T - Again, the flavor is fairly bland. Simple red malt / wheat grains. Maybe it's just me but I'm finding a slightly off-putting cherry cola sort of flavor in there as well.

M - A fluid and easy-drinking feel. Medium-bodied, with slick carbonation. Felt like it had a bit more alcohol than it did.

Overall, a mediocre offering at best. Wouldn't try this one again.

Pours a amber in color with a big frothy off white head that falls slowly. Gets little darker and nice floaties appear on emptying the bottle, nice to see in an American wheat.

Aroma is light toasted notes and caramel malts, some very light fruity notes and earthy notes from the yeast. Aroma is light but not sure what to expect really, most american wheat beers tend to be light and unfavorable.

Taste is has more kick then the nose, nice malt sweetness with a good caramel kick. Some toasted notes, touches of fruit notes with a good herbal earthy kick in the finish.

Mouthfeel is good solid medium with good carbonation, not as peppy as the pour would have you think.

Overall not sure what to expect not sure if i have never had an American Dark Wheat Ale before. Pretty tasty beer not sure what i paid for it but worth a try no less, wouldn't pass on one that's for sure.

look - slight disappearing head that ends before you know it. Has a amber color and slightly hazy with ok lacing.
smell - not a strong smell. slight caramel malts
taste - sweet caramel malt but also kind of bitter. possibly some dark fruit taste hiding back there.
feel - slight carbonation on a lighter body.
overall - not sure where I see the wheat in this beer but I do get the caramel amber taste. It's ok but nothing Id get again.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Here's hoping for the original, rather than the remake... This stuff pours a partly cloudy amber-copper topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises light dried maple syrup, light toasted rye bread, caramel, grass, light candied orange peel, and a hint of resin in the background. The taste does indeed lead with the caramel and bread, but this pairing is immediately undercut by strange, resinous fruit peels, bitterness abounding and clashing with the dry sweetness already present. Wow, this just plain doesn't work at all. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, this was a pretty good-sounding idea, but the execution clashes on the tongue to the point that I hope never to have another drop touch mine again.
