Hazy deep golden amber colour, one finger of white head and some lace. Smell is a mix of sharp citrus, grapefruit and some sweet malt, tropical and to a lesser extent pine. Taste has lots of grapefruit and pine, some orange/tangerine, medium sweetness mid palate, fruity aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, medium bodied. Decent but not altogether memorable however.

Pours a golden color with a fresh white head, a touch of lacing, smell is full on tropical and pine forest hops, taste is supreme this is a Forest of Mango, citrus and grapefruit trees with some pineapple and melon thrown in, then along comes resinous juicy pine hops but the sweet malts offset this hop assault and make this so drinkable, mouthfeel is dry with some bitterness, but so easy to drink a few reminds me of Hopslam, a great WC DIPA but this is our own from the north shore.

Pours from the can a dark copper with a foamy white head that leaves lots of lace.
The aroma is pine, citrus, floral and spice.
Pine and citrus lead the taste parade with tropical fruit, some toffee and biscuit sweetness, a wonderful juicy middle and a pithy finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, sticky and chewy.

Pours a deep, murky amber. White head sticks around for quite a while. The smell is a blast of pine, citrus and grass. The taste is a lot like the smell with citrus, pine, grass and plenty of hops. The alchohol is very well hidden with this beer. My only complaint would be the mouthfeel seems a bit thinner than other double ipas I've had. Overall I would say this is an excellent beer.

Serving glass: Poured from can into stemmed glass.

Appearance: Hazy orange with large head and impressive lacing.

Smell: Tropical, citrus and piney hop aroma - hard to pick out individual notes but nice.

Taste: Very hoppy, with lots of grapefruit and pine, with lighter orange and tropical flourishes. Semi-sweet malt backing with bread and caramel. Fairly bitter finish with an emphasis on pine. A slight soapiness distracts.

Feel: Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Fairly creamy with a dry finish.

Overall: A very good DIPA. Easy drinking like Bent Hop but definitely more bitter.

L: Pours brilliant copper gold under a 1” off-white foam cap that is mildly persistent.
S: Citrus, floral, resin, mild biscuit, bread crumb. T: Bread crumb, citrus, tropical fruit. The malt is moderate, the hop flavors are medium high, the hop bitterness is medium.
F: Creamy medium body, medium carbonation, very mild warming.
O: a delightful beer with a big hop presence that is well rounded and not harsh.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a fairly clear amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big two finger off white head with decent retention. Leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell: A very juicy and dank hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus, pine, and grass. Citrus hop scent of grapefruit, orange peel, tangerine, melon, mango, and lemon. Also some fruit hints of berry and apple. Earthy and herbal hop hints of pine resin, grass, and cannabis. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and oats along with yeast. A very good hoppy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and herbal hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit, pine, and grass. Upfront juicy presence of citrus hops with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, and lemon. Also getting some subtle fruit notes of apple and berry. Earthy hop notes of pine resin and grass. Solid backing malt notes of caramel, grains, and oat along with some yeast. A really good juicy taste.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and oily with a drying finish. Alcohol is hidden well.

Overall: A really good Double IPA from Bent Paddle. Great mix of citrus and earthy hops with a solid caramel malt backing.

12 ounce can into an oversized tulip.

A- Copper liquid and frothy head. Good clarity. Tons of lace. Great head retention. 5

S-Ooh la la. This aroma is lovely. Mango, papaya and melon blend. Light floral quality and a seductive sweetness. This aroma reminds me of Yellow Rose, a beer I love dearly. 4.5

T- Still getting that melon-y deliciousness but there's more to this. Resinous hops, pineyness, bready and caramel malt sweetness. The finish lingers with a floral flavor like lilies. 4

F- Sweet, resinous, and wickedly bitter about mid-palate. The bitterness feels a tad perfumey and is my only quibble with this beer and does slightly impact the flavor too. 3.75

A really pleasant surprise. Very good. I'd be happy to have many of this beer.

L - a beautiful clear filtered clean orange. Nice lacing, huge thick foamy head.
S - not bursting with hop aroma but lovely pine, floral, mango.
T - extremely appealing. Most balanced imperial IPA I've had to date. Malt sweetness makes it quite drinkable. Mango, pine, apple juice, lingering alcohol at the finish but unnoticeable other than that. Quite nice, one of the best I've ever had from Minnesota.
F - only trouble area, low carbonation in my opinion but other than that it's smooth and velvety
Overall one of the best double iPas I've had from the Midwest.

Clear amber color with a finger of head that slowly settled to a thick cap. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of citrus, pine, dank weed, and grass. Smells fresh and green. The aroma is better than the flavor. The hop flavors just do not come through enough. Pleasant malt profile that gives a little sweetness and toasted notes. Hop flavors of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. Mild dankness and moderate bitterness. Pleasant body with a good weight and nice carbonation.

Got on trade! 12oz can served at 4deg C in a draught glass.

A- Opens well and pours a tiny 1" high white head that fims out within a minute or two. Medium gold colour and unfiltered.

S- Nice hops and sweetness. I do dare guess a double IPA

T- Yup! Traditional American double IPA. Heavy sweetness, hops and malt. Nice blend. Yes many things stick right out at you. Strong flavor presence

M- Sticky and thick. Traditional DIPA

O- Nice overall blend. Strong and up forward to say the least. Do like this style from time to time.

Food Pairing

This nice brew went well with........ BBQ Ribs. Low and slow. The glaze was honey garlic
