This is my go-to IPA that is brewed locally in my home state. What a wonderful IPA that is loaded with delicious citrus and has an outstanding pine resin/spruce tip finish. Its subtly sweet which creates a very smooth and rich mouth feel. The bitter notes are very well balanced which makes this brew dangerously easy to drink. I would recommend picking up a six pack of this or even better visiting the brewery on your next adventure up north to Duluth. Cheers!

Drop your [email protected] - grab your socks and head on over to your local beer provisioner and pick up a six of this delightful nip. I akin it to taking a trip upon a crispy, hop-filled ride on the carousel of wonderfully balanced seat of malt and hops. Yea, let's ride again! I had the privilege of receiving this as a gift since distribution is a hinderance in my neck of the woods. No idea how old or fresh it was but it sure delivered waaaaay beyond my expectations (read: Who the hell is Bent Paddle and really...Duluth?) Friends, I have two problems with this beer. !. I only had one gifted 2. It's too far of a drive to get more. But I will leave you with this thought.... Share this with the world Bent Paddle! You will be showered with praise and immediate over-ratedness upon the likes of Surly and Toppling Goliath, and follow the call of others, like Indeed Brewing, that are now your brethren in providing us beer snobs another brew to covet over thy neighbors. Amen.

This beer pours an orangish color the shade of faded bricks with a slight haze. The aroma is citrus first, primarily grapefruit, followed by understated pine. The flavor is also citrus forward, supported by pine and cedar. There are also strong caramels notes here, and their accompanying sweetness. The mouthfeel is fairly rich and full. Overall this is a well made beer, but just to sweet for me for hoppy beer. I do love Bent Paddle, but most of their other regular line-up is preferable to me.

For an IPA it is easy on the pallet. Crisp and refreshing. I'd drink it again.

On tap at Austin CC.
Definitely golden, very clear and small white top. Softer, but complex hop aroma.
complexity in flavor but the mouth feel is interesting. Quite soft and fluffy, that contrasts the bitterness, which is not intense of overwhelming but prominent. But not so strong to destroy the meal. I think that's what I liked is that this is an easier drinker yet still clearly an Am. IPA. Solid malt foundation and only touching on sweetness but enough to prevent over bittering.
