Notes:
Brewed in collaboration with Cloudburst--while it takes the Cloudburst team over two hours to get to Bale Breaker, the hundreds of pounds of wet Citra hops picked fresh from the fields travel just four minutes from farm to kettle.

Topped by a nice, creamy white head--holy curtains Batman!--the body is a clear amber-gold.
Smell is spicy with black pepper, herbs, pine, cracker, and spiced orange.
Taste is cracker, grapefruit, pine, with hints of wood and rug, leaning bitter.
Crisp with a nice froth, it's a little prickly, yet smooth, with a semi-dry finish.

16oz can poured into 11oz tulip. Poured a clean, clear golden yellow color with an inch of fluffy, white head that had moderate retention and lacing.
A huge blast of hops came out of the can, extremely hoptastical. Just a light bit of grain showed through for a touch of contrast.
Same on the tongue, a freight train of hops, with just enough malt to give nice support.
The body was medium-light, smooth, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was great, you could easily knock back a few of these.
Overall, a great example of Fresh Hop magic. A must try if you see it.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, citrus hops, orange, tangerine, grapefruit and a spot of dankness. Flavor is pale malt with a little biscuit, citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, light pine. Starts somewhat mild, but the hops build in flavor and intensity into a nice citrus rind and lightly dank bitter finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. It's been a while since I had a new Bale Breaker IPA and it's worth the wait. Good fresh hop character, the hops seem a little more complex than straight Citra, but that hop's character is dominant. Lots of herbal flavor and and does taste fresh. Another reason to love this time of year.
