Another can from Beertunes. Many thanks.
Canned April 1st.
Not picking up the simcoe too much, might be the age, but the Ahtanum seems there. More of a grassy front with a light fruit sweetness in the background. Some soft pale malt too.
Good looking white head with immediate lacing on settling. Somewhat cloudy golden yellow.
Good mix of flavors with hop forward, but not that much as, per style, it comes in more balanced. More herbal grassy hop flavor with a solid malt presentation. A touch of sweetness up front and a moderate enjoyable bitterness on the finish. Again balanced just the way I like it (reminds me of Summit EPA).
Soft feel including the carbonation and provides a full mouth feel, but it isn't that big.
This is a very good every day drinker. Hits all my requirements for a solid APA. I wonder if the simcoe would show through more if fresher (not complaining, just wondering).

The beer pours a golden amber orange color with good head retention and lacing. This beer smells terrific, as i get white pepper, dry citrus, a hint of sweet malt and even some light skunky weed. Given the aroma profile, I was just a bit disappointed by the way this beer tasted. While still good, with a light, dry, moderately bitter flavor profile, I just wished the beer could have delivered a bit more flavor. Nevertheless, this is a very easy beer to drink, and is light, crisp, dry, refreshing and lightly bitter on the finish. Mouthfeel is farily light, and the alcohol is completely undetectable.

While I didn't think this beer was anything extraordinary, it's still a very tasty, very easy to enjoy beer from this new to me brewery.

Not too bad for an APA. Actually, it's very good. The nose is of candied tropical fruit. The taste is a let down because of the super smell, but it is still nice. The feel fits.

Overall - Nice day time, summer brew. Top Cutter is more my speed. Nonetheless, this is a quality make for an APA.

A: Poured a clear light golden color with good carbonation yielding a nice white cap. A good amount of lacing is present and head retention was pretty good.

Smell - Summit/Chinook hops mostly, hard to detect the malts, they are pretty played down here but the aroma is nice.

T: Nice, fresh hop punch intially providing some light grass with hints of citrus and pine needles. A light grain malt bill is present. This APA is all hops though. The finish is rather clean, light bitterness, crisp....

M: Very light body with good carbonation for the style. The feel of light grassy and some pine needles is felt. Light and crisp, refrshing even.

O: Very nice. Easy to drink. This is definitely a West Coast APA but with a lower ABV. Very sessionable and a load of fresh hops makes this a very tasty, crushable brew

Best session IPA I've had (and at 4.5%, that's really an accurate description). Really well balanced and has a full hop flavor--none of the wateriness that one might expect from a 4.5% hoppy beer.

Poured into a snifter. A moderately hazy beer with a bright golden color. Medium off-white head with good retention and excellent lacing in the glass. Hints of citrus and earthiness in the nose. The aroma is somewhat muted but not bad for a two month-old beer. Big piney/earthy/grapefruit flavor, I'm guessing from Cascade hops. Bitterness would put it in the IPA category in my book. It's 4.5% but tastes bigger. As expected, malt is there but restrained and in the back. The body is there, giving it a good feel and avoiding the hop-water effect for many lower ABV hoppy beers. Very nice.

L: Clear straw yellow color with a creamy head that leaves half an inch on top. A few bits of lacing.

S: Some lemon and citrus with lots of grassy floral hops. Some sweet cereal malt. Not a super strong aroma.

T: A floral bitterness takes over the taste, some lemon, quite bitter for a pale.

F: Mouthfeel is a little watery and medium carbonation.

O: This pale ale is ok but there are quite a few I like much better.

12oz can served in a nonic glass. No can dating.

Look- Clear golden straw color. Solid off-white head that recedes rather slowly to a thin cap of foam with modest lacing. Moderate carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Citrus (grapefruit, pithy orange rind and lemon/lime), dank/grassy hops, resinous pine, caramel/bready malt, light tropical/stone fruit notes.

Taste- Pithy citrus, a hint of tropical fruits (pineapple and mango), pine needles and grassy/herbal/floral hops. Decent malty backbone, well balanced.

Feel- Medium/light bodied, semi-dry and fairly crisp, light bitter finish. Medium/light carbonation on the tongue.

O- A nice enough old school west coast style pale ale. Nothing over the top but very crushable.
