A-Light golden. Thin head that goes fast.

S-Wierd. Grassy or Vegetable. Couldn't quite put my finger on it.

T-Wierd. Grassy or Vegetable. A little sweet.

M-Thin. A little on the fizzy side.

D-Not too bad. Went okay with Indian food. I wouldn't drink this by itself for any reason.

Bottle Inspection: Standard brown 12 oz. bottle with marketing blurb

Aroma: A little malt, some grain, and overall fairly clean for such a mild aroma

Appearance: A very clear yellow glass shows very little head that fails to lace

Flavor: Metallic lemon. I guess that would be a good band name, but it’s not much in the world of beer.

Mouthfeel: Light body and fairly flat carbonation

Overall Impression: Eh, not very exciting, but not awful. I agree that it might match nicely with some spicy Indian food, but not worth drinking on it’s own.

Dansberg pours out a pale straw color. There is a 1/4" white head that is completely gone in 15 seconds. The beer is bright and clear. No lace.

The smell is sweet and grassy. Some evident hops in the nose. The label claims "hand-picked hops from Germany".

Taste is initially grainy and slightly sweet. Strange appealinng sourness, almost a citrus like tang. Also some odd honey notes appear later in the beer. Some bitterness from the "hand-picked hops" in the end.

Crisp and clean. Dry finish, not much aftertaste. Would be good at an Indian resaurant to drink "authentic" and wash down a plate of spicy stuff. Not bad, I would drink this before any true AML(BMC).

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear pale yellow color with about a half inch of head when forced-on. The head of tight small bubbles fell within a minute to a very small wisp around the glass. No bubbles rising to speak of.

Aroma: A lot more hop presence than what you would expect from a stereotypical macro brew, but this isn't a macro brew technically. The freshness of the hops is pleasant, but there is not enough malt presence to justify this being in a Pilsner category.

Taste: The taste is a different story. I pick up a bit of DMS here. There are some assertive hops, but they don't really meld with the flavor. I am guessing this is Saaz hops or some derivative, so there is an assertive spiciness among a sweet grainy malt.

Opinion: This is not my favorite beer by any means. The choice of hops is unusual to me, and I am pretty familiar with the traditional Northern German Pilsners. This has the hop bill of a Belgian Golden or the like without the esters, so it leaves you feeling like it is one-dimensional. It is clean, but I think that the recipe needs to be tweaked.
