Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet grainy malt, grassy hops and an odd vegetal component. Flavor is sweet grainy malt, hay, mild grassy hops, vague apple juice, finishes semi-sweet and lightly grassy much like an adjunct lager. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The overall impression from this is of a slightly amped up adjunct lager, with its typical innocuous slightly sweet malt and mild hops. Fortunately, the odd note in the aroma is not in the taste. I had 3 beers from this brewery to choose from and figured this would be the best for a chance at flavor due to the moderate ABV. Although plain, it's drinkable in a summer lawn mower beer kind of way, although the hops are tame even by that standard. No real off notes, just bland. This might be the same beer as "Yeti" from this brewery, although it has clearly been rebranded (threats of legal action from another famous Yeti?). My hope was it had been reformulated too, but perhaps not, it's not that great, as per reviews of the other lager. A painless tick of a brewery from a very interesting part of the world.
