Had a pint of this at The Fish Market across from the Del Mar racetrack. The beverage was delivered in a standard pint glass and was a straw yellow with the distinct whitbeir haze. My first taste reminded me of a Erdinger Weiss Bier...a compliment for a SoCa brewer! Nice malty mouthfeel, but not overly heavy. It really complemented the swordfish tacos nicely. Overall a very good offering from Saint Archer.

A fruity, very tasty white ale. Not your typical witbier, a bit less malty and a tad more citrus notes. Pour out of the can (that's what I have in my crisper at the moment) and into a tulip. You won't be mad on a hot summer night sipping this in your backyard.

I work at trader Joes, and this one was just made available to us at my store, and I'm pretty happy with it. There are some hecklers who reviewed this beer as aweful. IGNORE THEM. It's incredibly crisp, bright, full bodied, grassy, citrusy, yeasty, and looks gorgeous in my tulip glass. St Archer accomplished the white style very well.

Served in a pint glass on tap at Moo. Pours golden with a shirt white head. Nose picks up the orange peel. First sip is the coriander, which works well in this beer. A very refreshing beer, perfect for a hot day.

Hazy and yellow gold with a fingernail of bright white. The aroma is of coriander, pale wheat, and orange peel. I'm tasting a healthy dose of pale wheat, and orange peel. The mouth is crisp and refreshing.

In a can.

Smells like pine and orange peel.

Almost no head, which disappears.

It's both watery and "easily drinkable".

I get a little pepper somewhere in there, and definitely some fruit (orange peel) and spice. Easy/weak finish. Goes flat quickly.

It's got a mimosa feel, and in a bad way reminds me of the coors light mimosas we used to make.

But in a good way it's a crisper, better, more complex blue moon. Somebody said "blue moon for hipsters" -- nice.

Melissa was unimpressed.

Hazy bright yellow color with a small white head that fizzes away quickly. Aroma has the traditional wheat, banana and curacao notes. Taste follows with orange, wheat and a bit of lemony tartness. Light, fizzy mouthfeel. Overall it's a well made, traditional witbier.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy light straw body.
The aroma is pine, floral and mandarin.
The taste is mild pine and orange bitterness.
The texture is softer.
It's nice, more of a bitter white ale.

Not much of a witbier fan, but this one is well done enough, with both the coriander and, especially, the navel oranges easily noticeable. Nice, fluffy carb on this one too.

I had high expectations for this beer after having finished a pint of Allagash Wit. Maybe that is why I am saddened.

I'm growing find of this style, but not this beer. Definitely not at it's price point of $10 per 6er.

The beer pours a yellow to semi gold haze that smells strongly of Orange from the moment you open the can. The appearance of the beer is fine. Nothing offensive. The taste gets me. It's very sharp from the moment lips touch the beer. Beyond tart, and hard for me to get past that when assessing the flavor. In addition to an unexpected and unwelcomed bitterness, I also get stale cracker. Possibly due to shelf life?

I'm hoping this was a bad experience resulting from high standards set by Allagash. I will give this one a try at the brewery.

All in all, better than bud... But not for the price

12 oz. single silver can from Trader Joe's poured into a globe glass. This white ale pours a light pale wheat with a thin cap of foam. Light haze shows an odd greenish hue to it.

Smell of light wheat and a hint of spice yet light and reaching. A good spin offers up a five second window of rich aroma components before falling back to a steady but subtle yeast character. Slight sweetness on the finish accompanies a steady flavor and feel.

Nice wit without the confusion of too much added spice. Simple yet straightforword with a good wheat/yeast balance. Yet touch thin at times but worth a visit.

22 ounce bomber poured into a Belgian tulip

A: Bright orange yellow, white head that dissipated quickly, no carbonation, no lacing, looks very thirst quenching, very cloudy.

A: Yeast, spices, slight orange peel aroma, no alcohol, lots of wheat aroma coming off this beer, very pungent.

T: Big kick of wheat and yeast up front, spices, orange peel bitter, tart, not getting any sweet fruit flavors, no alcohol.

M: Lots of carbonation on the mouthfeel, dry, light.

O: This is a very complex and balanced beer, it's good, it's my first Witbier so I may have to try some others for comparison. Probably won't buy again but would not refuse if offered. This is beer I would need to be in the mood to drink.
