Notes:
For our sophomore offering in our Nitro series, we wanted exploit that nitro creaminess, so we created our Coffee Cream Porter. We chose a Bolivian coffee with our friends from Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, which lends itself to a nougaty milk chocolate and toasted praline character. Layered with chocolate, crystal and Maris Otter malts, vanilla beans from Madagascar and lactose for that delightful creamy mouthfeel, this beer is the sweet porter that leaves you wanting dessert, especially if that dessert is another pint.

Served on nitro in a pint glass
A: Black, half finger of creamy medium brown head
S: Smells like fresh brewed iced coffee
T: Follows the nose, its a creamy iced coffee meets beer
M: Smooth mouth feel from the nitro. Medium body.
A: If you love coffee, this is a perfect coffee beer. It's not complimentary, its driving the bus.

Porter + Latte, no ice = nice. This beer could carry over to pair with your dessert. Or if you want to really go for it, take some good coffee ice cream or coffee chocolate chip ice cream and make a beer float for dessert. I've done those, but not with this beer. Very smooth and pleasant.

On tap at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, coffee bean, and brewed coffee aromas. Taste is much the same with coffee bean, brewed coffee, cream, and cocoa powder flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with tasty coffee and cream flavors that make this one easy to drink.
