I have to preface this review, I have always said I really dont like "fruity" brews:
somehow found this in my fridge:

A very bright yellow - fluffy airy white head that settles quick
hard to check for lacing - using a porcelain mug for this

S not bad at all, kinda like a smoothed out IPA

T a bit more bite on the tounge, but still not too bad

M full bodied

D really not bad, guzzle on everyone!

Part of a variety 24-pack Costco $29.99
93 days before date on can
Smell of passion fruit, pine
Slightly hazy golden with a tinge of amber color
Medium mouthfeel
Medium carbonation
Taste of tart passion fruit, citrus, light bitterness
Overall an easy drinking beer. Maybe too easy given its higher alcohol. Nothing special in flavors. Would have expected more bold flavors given the higher alcohol.

I really really love this beer - although not sure if it is technically an IPA, the IBU's seem a bit low. If I had to rename this I'd call it just a tropical pale ale. First off the smell is amazing, big time fruitiness and citrus notes for sure. The taste follows the nose, very fruity, very citrusy and bright. Not getting much mango or passion fruit, it's more like grapefruit if anything. It drinks like a session IPA despite its 7% ABV, very nicely hidden for sure. Mouthfeel is very smooth, creamy and enjoyable. This is a great IPA for people who say they don't like IPAs. Nice work St. Archer.

12 oz. can:

Pours golden with a white head that is fizzy, but holds up to a lasting thin cover. A bit of lacing sticks.

The smell is of mango and passionfruit with musty, grassy and citric hops. The mango and passionfruit enhance without overwhelming.

The taste of mango and passionfruit are present and pleasant. Solid IPA. Musty, grassy hops with bready malt. Bitter leaning finish. Alcohol well-integrated throughout.

It hits medium-bodied. Pretty juicy. Smooth.

Easy to drink. Enjoyable. Tropical, West Coast American IPA. Well-done!

Six pack of cans picked up at Total Wine in Lynnwood, Washington.
Date stamped on the bottom of the cans is 012020. Poured in to a pint glass.

Look- Clear bright golden color, nice off-white head that slowly recedes, moderate amount of lacing. Very active carbonation streaming as it sits.

Smell- Citrus (Orange, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit), tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit and pineapple), pine, some peach/nectarine and melon, bready malts, light floral notes.

Taste- Much like the nose, tangy and juicy with a light splash of pine.

Feel- Medium/light bodied, smooth and crisp with a light bitterness, well balanced. Moderate carbonation on the tongue.

O- Definitely lives up to it's name. This is a nice offering from SA, one of their better ones in my opinion and at $8.50 a six pack you get great bang for the buck too. Pick some up if you see it.

i was pleased with this modern tasting and very fresh ipa, nice to finally get into a few of these beers after hearing about them for awhile, but i am also keen to try some of their more ambitious stuff too, i have not seen any of that around at all yet, hopefully sometime soon. this ipa works for the meantime though, mosaic, citra, and simcoe, yet another one to employ this trio, no complaints, its a nice mix of hops and they even managed to layer them up so that this is a little bit unique in flavor, hard to argue with an ipa that tastes good, much as its the new flavors that keep me excited about the style for the most part. the beer is quite clear and refined looking in the glass, has big kiwi and pineapple and meyer lemon notes to it, a little candied malt sweetness to it works well with the citrus, and it smells extremely fresh, very appealing. the flavor is cool because instead of all the hops combining and hitting at once, each seems to have its own moment, the simcoe maybe the most dominant and lingering, but appreciable contributions from all three of them are in here, and they start early, citra first for me, lemony with some light floral clover type character. definite lemon notes through most of this, some good malt balance without making the beer heavy, and finally a little pop of bitterness, but not too intense at the end. a clean fermentation profile without any real yeast flavor. overall a well made beer, professionally built, maybe a little safe, but better than a lot of the beers that use the same exact ingredients are. looking forward to more beers from these guys as they come around. so far so good...
