Style: Fruit / Vegetable Beer

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.40%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Curious Traveler is our take on a classic European Shandy that has been brewed for generations. We started with an American craft wheat ale, which delivers a crisp, light body. We then added fresh lemon and just a touch of lime to bring out a bright, juicy citrus aroma and flavor. Simply, the Curious Traveler is “Quite a Refresher!”

Hazy gold pour. Little head, no lacing. Nice smell. Tastes over-carbonated. Probably won't get it again.

Looks like urine and tastes like Corona with lemon drops dissolved into it. As a fan of citrus beers, I really thought I'd like it. Did not. At all.

L: This a very clowdy brew. That is good to style, and really shows the beers use of wheat
4/5

S: This beer smells like a blend of lemon peel and lemon-aid. A bit of wheaty "tang" and some orange as well. Very refreshing.
4/5

Taste: Probably one of the better Shandies Ive had, and easily the best american one, this is a great refreshing beer. Perfect for any hot day, a barbecue, or for giving to people who are not fans of beer.
4/5

Feel: high carbonation give this beer a noticeable bite. Body is at a lower medum level of sweetness/maltiness.
3.75/5

Overall: I highly recommend this beer, especially if you want something light and easy drinking. I just got off work, and this beer really hits the spot (while having more alcohol than rattler so it can actually give you a bit of a buzz which is nice).

Its also very competitively priced. If they made 12 packs of this stuff, It would be PERFECT.

I would drink this again :)

This pours a cloudy, golden yellow color with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is slightly sweet with lemons and wheat. The taste is sweet and full of lemons with wheat delivering a full beer flavor. Smooth and very easy drinking as well as a step up from Leine’s Summer Shandy.

really intense lemon on this, like lemon curd though, there is the confectioners sugar sweet aspect to it, that is just a little bit of a turn off for me, but i think the lemon is pretty genuine, and i can see the appeal for sure, although i still think i prefer others to this one due to the sweetness. pale in color, a little haze, and a ton of bubbles. i would love the feel, save the lingering sweetness, it hurts its refreshment value quite a bit for me, and definitely its drinkability, which is the point of these in the first place right? the lemon nose is intense, brightly citric, and acidic enough. the taste its there too, but here the sweetness comes in, more like a lemon preserve or something than a fresh squeezed juice, but again, it doesnt appear to me to be artificial. the beer aspect of this, and all of these really, is extremely minimal. no hops and not much grain to speak of, so its as much a soda as anything else, but when summer hits, im sure these will do pretty well here in the market. where i appreciated the pumpkin one for being so different, i sort of dislike this one for being so samey.

P- Thanks to ray for this brew

A- light orange yellow color with a nice one finger foamy head with spiderweb lacing on the pint. cloudy opaque with pieces of yeast floating throughout.

S- lemon soda type of nose to it. hints of earthy malts as well.

F- strong lemon flavor with hints of wheat and earth tones.

M- bubbly and carbonated and lemony.

O- eh.....lots of people for some reason find this to be a good beer but im of the mind it is just an average fruit beer. I have had much better in the past and this is just like drinking lemonade with alcohol thrown in to it.
