Jack-o Traveler.

Murky dark copper with a film of dirty suds on top. Laces not.

Smells of spiced pumpkin flesh, candi sugar, lemon dish soap, and obvious notes of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.

Chalky yeast cakes onto the spices, but a tangy and soapy lemon note comes through. Definitely a shandy, but with a real pumpkin presence. Flavors permeated by clove and cinnamon spice. Toffee malts and traces of nutmeg and caramel are evident. Not bad.

Feels chalky and semi-bitter for a shandy. Decent body. Carbonation is mild, but tightly-wound.

Decent shandy. I wouldve never thought I'd dig this.

Of all of the Pumpkin beers that I have tried this one is by far the best. This beer TRULY captured that pumpkin flavor that a lot of the other pumpkin beers really don't capture as well. You can really taste the spice in there and it just makes for a truly delicious pumpkin beer. Has an amazing nose, it smells just like delicious pumpkin spice. It goes down very smooth and is just a truly delicious and refreshing pumpkin beer. I pick it up every chance I get around October for a real pumpkin taste and October/Halloween feel.

In reviewing this beer, I will describe my experience in how I even came to have a pint of it sitting in front of me. The bar I was at had just kicked the Southern Tier Pumpking. The Travelers was the replacement. They gave me a taster. It actually tasted pretty good.

Don't fall into that trap. One one ounce swallow is akin to getting a sip of Hawaiian Punch. It tastes pretty good. It's when you get a mouth full, then a throat full, and then a belly full of this stuff, you realize the mistake you made.

It's sickly sweet and fizzy. It's almost like a soda. It smells pretty good, and it looks pretty good. But, the flavors are cloying.

I wish I had looked it up on BA before I "fell" for the taster offered to me.

Hey, there's a market for Boone's Farm too, so this will appeal to some people's tastes. Unfortunately, not mine.

Not sure why this is rated so low....probably just because of the brewer, but I found this solid for anyone who likes pumpkin beers. Had it side by side with a Whole Hog Pumpkins Ale by Stevens Point, which is rated 91 on here, and it stood up ok against it. For the price and availability I will seek it out again.

I am surprised this works as well as it does. A bit of lemon really complements the pumpkin spice. This one is over the top pumpkin flavor, but may be their best shandy.

Drank from a 12 oz bottle. First thing that popped out was the nice and pleasant smell. Overall not a bad pumpkin beer, good taste with subtle hint of lemon. Not very bitter or hoppy, in fact not at all. Good body and not too strong of an after taste. This is a decent beer and worthy of being on this website.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Reddish brown with a thin white head.

Smell: Hops, lemon, pumpkin spice, cinnamon

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium to light bodied. Taste of malts, lemon, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.

Overall: This is by far one of the best pumpkin ales I have had so far. New favorite for me!

Had a few sips on tap at Barnum Publick House in Bridgeport. Pours a dark copper color, tinge of haze, with a nice light tan head that sticks around. Smell is a little too sweet and candy like, some artificial spice in the back, malty. First sip: wow, this is a disaster. It tastes oily and fake, chemicals, hints of ginger beer, maybe some nutmeg, strong sweetness. Bitter at the end, not enough carbonation. Ended up sending it back. This beer really sucks, do not buy it.

12 oz bottle with a BB date notch at Dec. 2014.
Spicy and bready aroma.
Tastes like a pumpkin-nut muffin ... not a bad thing but with a light body, some lemon and prickly high carbonation, this is too much like a wine cooler.
