2015 rendition of this beer is a pumpkin porter, had at the brewery a few days back.Poured a deep walnut brown with a creamy off white head atop.Roast and pie spice on the nose, there is a bit of pumpkin noticed.A smoother feel with a fuller edge.Roast and a bit of chocolate with the pumpkin spice coming in late, light roasted pumpkin as well. Not sure if this is a different beer than the last two years but from the reviews it looks like a new version.

The beer is bright orange with a gargantuan beige head. The aroma brings fall spices to include cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, pumpkin pie, the usual suspects in a beer of this ilk. Prickly carbonation causes an immediate burp. Lots of pumpkin right up front. Fairly light in body with a present but mild sweetness, finishing dry. The overly aggressive mouthfeel is the weak link here, but otherwise, pretty good.

A. Orange gold, brilliant like wildflower honey. A half finger of white head with tight beading and good lacing. (4.0)

S. Classic pie spice notes of allspice, clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg. A subtle earthy note from the roasted pumpkin that suggests fresh pumpkin flesh and toasty seeds. (4.0)

T. Creamy and sweet with caramel, pumpkin, and light spicing. Prominent squash flavors and caramel malt make this anything but a spice bomb. It's hearty and pleasing. (4.25)

M. Hefty and creamy for a pumpkin beer, with mild carbonation and a velvety smooth mouthfeel. (4.25)

O. Five Pound Fall Ale is a true pumpkin beer: it's light on spice and heavy on squash. Additionally, the malts used provide a very smooth texture overall to the beer, which makes this very drinkable without scouring the palate. Highly recommended to pumpkin beer fans. (4.18)

I had this pumpkin ale tonight. It's hazy dark brown/orange in appearance with only a small head that dissipated quickly. Smell is a sweet brown sugar with a hint of pumpkin spice, quite appealing really. The taste is pretty great. I like a hint of sweetness in my pumpkin beers and this brew hits the nail on the head. There's a great pumpkin spice body to it with just a hint of sweet caramel taste. Really one of the best pumpkin brews I've had.
