I had this beer a few week ago. I was disappointed and although the bottle was bottled just a few weeks earlier, it felt old. At the time, I gave it a grumpy 2,74.

This is a review of a new bottle of approx the same age.

The colour is red-amber (40 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick head sinks down slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell got some caramel malt, but American hoppy flavours dominate. Orange squash, orange peel, bitter orange, lime and grape fruit. Some cedar wood and a peppery bitterness.

The taste is very bitter in the start, almost like an AIPA. Floral and citric notes. Medium body. The aftertaste emerges quite quickly with smooth caramel flavours (sweet bread) and banana chips. Then, the bitter hops returns with citric bitterness. The finish is balanced and a little harsh.

The carbonation is strong, the many bubbles short-lived. The liquid is mid-smooth.

This is quite a malty single hop APA, which brings some nice depth to the flavours.
