The colour is gold with a tint of orange (10 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is compact and white. It sinks quite quickly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is sweet with distinct notes of caramel and some toffee. Plums, fresh flowers and golden treacle. Very English.
The taste is clean and sweet. Distinct floral bitterness. Plums and apricots. The semi-sweet malt and bitter-aromatic hops balances each other. Cookies and rye crisp bread. Medium body. The aftertaste is bitter with smooth caramel sweetness. Some green plants and floral notes. The long finish is bitter with some tree sap. No notable alcohol.
The carbonation is strong, the large bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is smooth and a bit sticky.
An elegant and malty IPA. Not bad.
