Love this place. Over a dozen sliders available at any time, plus sides like venison chili cheese french fries. Expect to get a couple (at least ) sliders, while they have huge flavor they are tiny.

Beer selection is pretty ace. 20 different bottles, which an emphasis on locals. Although they have Zywiec, one of my favorite Polish beers. Half a dozen BMC bottles available, and four rotating taps: Bell's, West Coast handle, Michigan handle, and mystery (special of the day) handle. Bottles for $3, Bell's draft for $3, others at market.

Parking is plentiful, as the building is located in a industrial/corporate office zone.

Hip divey slider spot. Great beer selection, though it is small. 6 drafts or so, 10-15 bottles, reasonably cheap. Decent whiskey selection, and beers to go. Upscale slider menu never disappoints. A burger for everyone, vegans and vegetarians too, and good beers to go with. Try to avoid during peak times- long long waits at times.

A good location, though overhyped. Sliders are good, and cheap until you order about 3 or 4 things to get full. Beer prices aren't too bad. Interior is cool in a sense, the dated feel works for and against the place. Lots and lots of hipsters around the place! Parking isn't hard luckily.

Green Dot Stables -- my absolute favorite place to visit when I'm in Detroit and want some drinks ... I was shocked to see that there were no reviews for this place. Here goes:

Atmosphere: One of the highlights. As you could probably guess from the name, it's really ... horse race-y. A lot of wood in the interior, and somehow relatively roomy for the small place that it really is. The lighting can sometimes get put a little too low at night, but that's a minor issue. Clean, comfortable, unique.

Quality: Quality of what? Well, it doesn't matter -- everything's great. The taps seem to be cleaned often, the food is outstanding (more on that in a second...), and there's nothing to be down about. Fantastic.

Service: The one downfall. It's not bad by any means, but it's pretty average. I typically come in here on a Friday or Saturday at about 7pm, so the place is normally packed with a 45 minute wait, but that's not the problem. It seems like any time I order something on draft at the same time as a friend, the beers get switched around unless the beers are clearly different styles (a stout and a pale ale or something). Also, even though the place gets busy, it's small (like I said). Even so, waiters/waitresses seem somewhat slow to get to your table if you want another beer or want your tab. Not the best service in the world, but only a minor blemish.

Selection: You can see the selection of beer and food from the website for yourself, but there are four taps ($3 for any beer, unless it's a specialty) that change constantly. Generally, there are three Michigan seasonal beers, and then a rotating out-of-state or specialty draft. Ones I've had include Lagunitas IPA, Hopslam, and Dogfish Head 60 Minute. There aren't many taps at all, but they change so often, it doesn't really matter. I'm not sure of the size of the mugs that the beer is served in, but it's probably 12oz ... if not that, 10oz, though I think it is 12. If that's not good enough, there is a great choice of bottles to choose from. Domestics ($2) and craft ($3). The bottled craft choices are also dominantly Michigan made, though there are a few that aren't. They also have a Mystery Menu that changes every week -- a Mystery Meat, a Mystery Cocktail (those are $3 as well), and a Mystery Beer. The selection at Green Dot is one that you won't complain about, for sure.

Food: Some of the best I've eaten. I've eaten it sober, so that gives some validation. The sliders aren't cheap, but the reasonably priced craft beer balance it all out. A White Castle (or Krystal, if you're more familiar with that place) sized slider will run you about $3. There are some for $2, but they're few and far between. The thing is, despite that price, it's of unbelievable quality, and there are some damn interesting options as well. The truffle and herb fries are unreal, the New England clam chowder (which has since been temporarily replaced by Manhattan chowder that I haven't had) was almost as good as the stuff I've had in Boston... it's all just excellent, and I haven't had a bad thing here yet. The sliders are made with care, the soup is fresh, the fries are hot out of the deep fryer... there's not much more you could ask for.

Green Dot Stables: THEE place to eat and drink in Detroit... bar-none.
