A - Wonderful atmosphere at PrimoVino! Its a cozt little place that is very trendy looking inside. Bottles of wine aline the walls with crafts beers tucked away into several different corners. There are usually several patrons inside sampling various wines and beer.

Q - Everything I have ever purchased at Primo has been of the upmost quality and very fresh. They tend to turn their inventory rather quickly

S - Very knowledgeable staff that knows their customers by name. They know what sort of beers and wines I like and have never steer me wrong. Very friendly place

F - They do not serve food, but do offer variuos gourmet cheeses and sausages. I dont come for the food.

V - Very fairly priced even against bigger supermarkets such as Schnucks. Plus, if you are a wine member they give you an additional 10% off everything in the store.

Was in Cape Girardeau. Saw the great reviews and decided to stop by. I was not disappointed.

Walked in the beer side "Cask" door and saw a variety of 2nd shift beers which I have not found anywhere in Southern Illinois. The organization is mostly on several smaller four sided shelves about 5 feet high. I much prefer this over the large 7 foot shelves which may be 60 feet long on both sides that you might find in a larger chain store made to resemble a warehouse. You can see everything better on the smaller shelves without missing something. I also enjoy wandering around, looking here and there in little nooks and crannies. It's more fun that way. They seem to have a pretty decent bourbon selection (also on the beer side) if you're into that. Atmosphere is cozy and friendly. I wish I had time on my visit to sit at the bar and enjoy a few brews or glasses of whiskey.

Quality is top notch. Only the best and most unique beers seem the show up here.

The service? Outstanding! Spoke with a young gentleman named Chris. He was incredibly knowledgeable and also a sour fanatic as I am. He offered several suggestions which were all excellent and he really exuded a passion for craft beer. Chris gave me a couple samples from the tap to try while I browsed. He also said they offer several tasting and release events each year.

The selection was excellent as well. I think what separates this place from the large chains is the abundance of quality beers and unique beers. Quality over quantity really. I saw several brands and brewers displayed which I haven't seen anywhere else ( however, I rarely shop at liquor stores in Missouri) as well as bottles from familiar brewers (like goose island) which I have never seen, like Gillian and Halia. They seemed to have a wider selection of sours than anything else which is fine by me. Chris also told me they receive three shipments of beer a week and that much of inventory on the shelf was new. My initial impression is I'm unlikely to find a stale selection here which to me is more important than a large selection.

The prices are slightly higher than those I've seen in SoIL but we're only talking a 5-10% difference at most.

Overall first impression, amazed! Well worth a stop if you are anywhere near Cape Girardeau. I will definitely be back.

Primo is an amazing wine store with one of (if not THE) best selections of wine, spirits and beer in town. My wife enjoys the wine part as I tend to head to the beer side most. Both offer tasting areas, as well as weekly taste testing events for wine, beer and spirits. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and are very much spot on with their recommendations. I like that they are able to get a good variety of craft beers and highlighting breweries within the state or other breweries that are gaining popularity. Price is on point, sometimes a small bit higher than the local supermarkets, but service and supporting a local establishment goes a long way with me and I gladly support them. Worth a stop anytime you're in Cape Girardeau.
