The beer pours a nice and creamy white head that takes a long while to dissipate. The beer itself is a nice, clear pale gold. The overall look is pretty nice and pretty close to the style guidelines. It's not as brilliant that someone would expect but I think it works given what it was aged in.
The smell is fantastic and unique tropical fruit smell. There's a fairly sweet smell coming from the mezcal and mixing with a nice banana smell and pear note. Other fruit notes include a fairly soft peach. Interestingly, the Belgian yeast strain is there but is weak compared to the other notes.
The taste is just as interesting as the smell. The mezcal sweetness is much stronger than in the smell and occupies a bit more presence. The fruit notes are still there but more softer. The fruit notes trends towards (in order of most strongest to weakest) banana then peach with a grainy and peach finish.
The feel is fairly unusual for the style but it's still pretty good. It's a light and creamy medium bodied beer. It has an unusually light body and the fluffy carbonation makes it lighter and creamier. The finish is slightly dry and feels great.
Overall, it's a pretty unique beer that works very well. The beer is a really nice and interesting take on a style while keeping true to the basic guidelines. I really do recommend getting this while it's available.
