Pour is transparent golden amber with lots of bubbly white head that does not dissipate. Nose is aggressively sweet, notes of raw honey, hibiscus, earthy spice. Taste is similar, very sweet and sugary, lots of raw honey, a floral earthy spice. Notes of lime juice and hibiscus in back, spicy finish, moderate carbonation, a bit heavy and flabby.

My man rowmark pulling out the vintage deGarde! very excited to try this one. It held up well (not that I had it fresh but tastes better than older reviews describe). you can definitely tell that this is an older deGarde...way less refined. you can see the potential but this is not like the newer stuff.

the brew itself is kinda like a holiday spiced beer. nose is peppered w all sorts of old bay and potpourri craft store types of scents. taste is more of the same but the honey steps up in a big way. not the deGarde I love but not a bad beer. cool tick and the abv is fairly well hidden.

Appearance is gold with a frothy off-white head, creamy, solid lace.

Smell is intense, there's lots of sugars, earth, herbal, some coco (weird!), and herbal.

Taste is intense but notably smooth. 15.5% seems daunting! But the taste is not. Like the herbal notes, I assume the honey helps it ferment strong and smooth, more of a braggot I assume. Very well done.

Mouthfeel is slippery, eerily soft, light; Saharan dryness.

Drinkability is impressively strong. Honestly, the best, most drinkable of the strong beers I've had; by a wide margin; wine like.

Another thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Very small fizzy head, semi clear honey orange color.

Nose juniper, fruity orange peel and marmalade, sweet candy like, little piney

Taste sweet gale and juniper pine like, semi sweet candy and plenty of effervescent saison like notes, hint spices, floral, etc.

Mouth is med bod, booze is hidden well, nice carb.

750 ml bottle into a Mekong snifter

not a gusher like a lot of other de gardes. pours a murky golden color with a nice carbonated head. smell is absolutely on point. smell of a sour oak barrel ... lemon .taste is absolutely incredible for 15.5% lemon...very very funky, damn tasty. this is so great. mild body...medium carbonation.

overall the most insane 15.5% beer I've had. just a kick ass brewery.

S - Pine, spruce, oaky, sweet.

T - Lot of oak, some sweetness from the honey, funk and a touch of pine.

D - Light body with good carbonation.

O - Light, crisp, nice funk. Oaky, sweet and piney.

Received in a trade.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice lightly hazy golden hue with a thin head.

S - Aromas of light botanicals, juniper, faint tripel notes.

T - Taste is lovely tripel notes, good gin notes, solid botanicals, really really drinkable with next to no alcohol present.

M - Mouthfeel is incredibly drinkable, the alcohol is hidden nicely. Awesome.

O - Overall this beer was really nice, super drinkable.
