A- A fizzy, highly carbonated, one-finger head that vanishes on the pour. Opaque - yellow body that's a bit hard to explain. Inside the house it's quite murky, but outside it popped into a beautiful tropical yellow.

S- Lemon-grass, lemon, cereal grains, yogurt, and Kiwi. No real "funk" in my book, although the lactic tartness is inviting. Sadly, the oak seems completely lost in the mix.

T- Initially it was very kiwi heavy, but as time went on some other mineral tastes came into place. Much like the aroma, with a good pucker.

M- Highly carbonated and acidic, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. Reminds me of Orangina.

O- I would really love to try some more of De Garde's offerings. I think that darker fruits would play great with the base beer.

A- Pours a very, very light straw yellow in color with a fizzy, white colored head. The head is like the head on a glass a champagne; quick, violent, and then gone. There is no lacing due to the lack of remaining head. The body of the beer is very hazy, and I cannot adequately describe the color because it is so light.

S- Tart kiwi and base beer combine on the nose to give a sour, yet enticing and fruity overall impression of the scent. The smell is super fruit forward and tart, but the tartness in the scent is not off-putting at all.

T- This beer's taste profile follows the nose nearly exactly. First, the kiwi hits the tongue and makes you pucker a little. The kiwi is not only sour, just displays some actual kiwi flavor as well. The base beer kicks in right after and is also tart, but in a slightly more acidic way than the kiwi. There is a dryness that moves in towards the end of the tartness and lingers on the tongue after the drink is over.

M- This beer is hugely carbonated and very light in weight on the tongue. This one drinks incredibly easy and has summer thirst quencher written all over it.

Overall, this beer is fairly sour, but not so much as to be distracting. This really reminds me of an adult lemonade, perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot day. The kiwi gives the base berliner an added level of complexity and really improves the overall flavor of the beer.

Bottle shared last night at Umberto's tasting.

Pours a milky pale yellow, it almost looks like it's glowing. There's a 1 inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like kiwi, lemon, lactic acid, yogurt, and a bready, almost Cheerios like aroma.

When cold, the interesting/weird Cheerios aroma doesn't translate to the taste, but when it warms up, it becomes apparent. I wonder what would cause that sort of thing? Otherwise, there's a ton of fairly tart kiwi, some lemon, green apple, wheat, hay, funk, yogurt, oak and lactic acid. It is bracingly tart and sour.

This is light bodied, with a crisp, juicy and tart mouthfeel, and a lively perky level of carbonation.

The aroma on this is interesting, but ultimately, slightly off putting. Still a very good beer.

750 mL bottle served in a tulip.

Pours a milky, clouded pale yellow with a finger of quickly fading white head. Lemony nose, slightly sour and yogurt, with some light tropical notes. Fairly sour flavor, some kiwi fruit, green and lemony, wheat and light yeast. Medium thick, highly carbonated body with a puckering, milky finish.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Clearly says Kiwi Bu. Not sure why Kiwiberry BU is also listed here.

Appearance - Hazy light yellow with the slightest tinge of green. Big white head and a thick collar.

Smell - Whoa, funky. Yogurt and kind of a rotten fruit aroma.

Taste - Much better. Kiwi is strong and quite sour. Yogurt. Less of that de Garde yeast in the back end.

Mouthfeel - Light body. Moderately strong sourness.

Overall - Smells pretty bad, but the kiwi sourness is nice. Simple beer.

There clearly was something up with the aroma has we all got butter. However, it still had a big tart quality.

The beer offers a big punch of actual kiwi flavor in the front. This is combination with lemony tartness found in a Berliner. The beer dries out with some wheat character throughout.

The beer is a simple and well crafted "one two" punch of kiwi fruit and tart Berliner.

750ml bottle. Poured into a Side Project stemmed glass 10/4/2014.

A- Light straw yellow colour, nice one finger white head, average retention time, nice wispy lacing. I'm disappointed though, that this isn't straight up green! [4]

S- Straight up yogurty lactate from the base beer, some wheat, and a nice effervescent kiwi tartness. [4]

F- Surprisingly, this isn't as sour as I expected. Nice kiwi fruit flavour comes across fully, musty oak barrel, lactic yogurt, a little bit of wheat. Solid, not mind-blowing, but definitely very solid for an AWA. [4]

M- Medium bodied, soft, nicely carbonated, very drinkable. Finish is a slight kiwi fruit flavour accompanied by plenty of lactic yogurt. [4]

O- Solid, not mindblowing but actually a pretty good expression of what I imagine kiwi in a sour beer to be. Better than Upland Kiwi for sure. [4]

Shared with JLindros and Threelions.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a super light cloudy straw hue with a thin head that faded immediately to leave a thin halo 4

S - Aromas of that intense house yeast, raw dough, tart wheat, light sour notes. Very Berliner like, cardamom, aromatic. 3.75

T - Taste is more of that house yeast, very nice tart fruit taste to it, lots of citrus sour that lingers long after the sip. The kiwiberry provides a nice unique tart sour note, very pleasant creamy lacto notes. The wheat is really subtle. 4.25

M - Mouthfeel is nicely creamy, good lacto. 4

O - Overall this beer was really nice, good sour tart notes. Really pleasant and the house yeast works with this one. 4.25

Thanks to mrbubbler for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a murky light whitish-yellow with a foamy off-white head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, grain, earth, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, fruit, and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but I am not getting any distinct kiwi aromas or flavors from this one.

Serving type: bottle.
