A: Pour is a cloudy orange with pink/reddish highlights: head length and retention are decent amid minimal lacing

S: Jolly ranger upfront with restraint acidity and delicacies of the cherries, raspberries, and lemons

T: A cherry tartness with yogurt, raspberry, and jolly rancher confines. Notes are somewhat earthy, wheat-y, and grainy, as the lactic funk, oak, and brett play around. Opens up really well, and has developed gracefully with time as hints of citrus, orange rind, vanilla, and slight cinnamon develop

M: Texture has a crisp, sweetness to it yet jammy and packed full of fruit with a light body, and high levels of carbonation

O: Aged fairly well, as more of the workings came through; nonetheless, refreshing and extremely drinkable

Appearance- The beer poured a deep magenta color with a white head that had hints of pink.

Smell - The nose was potent with tart cherry.

Taste - My initial impression is that of cherries that are quite tart. I do not get much of the promised raspberry. The sweetness gets swept away by the carbonation, leaving a tart oaky impression. The beer seems to get more tastier as it warms.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation is fairly intense initially, but it does calm. Sweetness is more evident as the beer warms.

Overall - I am starting to warm up to Berliners as I have had some great ones.

Wow. Just wow. The color on this beer is beautiful and the taste matches its beauty. I wasn't sure what to expect with the combo of raspberries and cherries, but it was a great marriage and was very sour. Just perfect.

First off this might be the craziest looking beer I've had to date. Bold, hazy ruby red grapefruit juice, would've never guessed this was a beer if I didn't pour it. Nice bit of funk to the nose, dominated by raspberry, not getting too much cherry. Taste is tart raspberry with little to no funk or oak notes. Super refreshing but not exactly what I was expecting but I'm not upset.

Love the color on this beer, never seen such a bright pink beer. Another winner from De Garde. Still a bigger fan of the Hose series than the Bu series.

Bottle shared by Curran tonight.

This one pours a dark pinkish-red, essentially looks like Hawaiian punch, not beer. There's a small fizzy head, with no lacing.

Smells like straight up cherry and raspberry juice, with not a whole lot else going on. I get a little bit of tartness on the nose, but it's mostly all fruit all the way.

This is fairly one note, well two notes, I guess- with the cherries and the raspberries. There's not as much going on here as with some of De Garde's other Bu's, there's a small amount of tartness, but no oak or funk or anything else that could make this a bit more complex. It's essentially tart fruit juice. Of course, it tastes good, but it's not all that interesting or complex. Just jammy.

This is light bodied, with a very high level of carbonation. It's very drinkable, though.

Not one of De Garde's best Bu's for sure. I still liked it, but I expect a bit more from these guys.

I had this beer on-tap in a goblet at the brewery.

Appearance: light pink hue with a good cloudiness. Head is virtually nonexistent. Still, I quite like it.

Smell: extremely rich band satisfying raspberry flavor with just a dash of tartness. Wonderful.

Taste: lightly tart with a great raspberry character; the cherries are much milder but still present. Very nice indeed.

Mouthfeel: medium light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: massively refreshing and just all around a great fruit beer.

enjoyed side by side w imperial cherry raz bu bith in degarde glasses from various releases. regular cherry raz has way more floaties, but both are deep pink with big frothy head. cherry raz bu is cherry raspberry juice the imperial has more of a bite but they are both excellent. super refreshing and easy drinking. regular is a bit more juicy but it is close. they are both amazing!

750ml bottle poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a pinkish red, hazy and opaque with a thick, fizzy, pinkish white head, nice retention with a nice layer of film forming at the top of the beer, no lace. The aroma is really pleasant, super fresh raspberry, tart cherry, jammy and fresh, light must, lemon citrus, pale wheat, really simple and balanced and one of the truest fruit expressions I've experienced from de Garde yet. The flavors are lovely, super berry fruit, juicy cherry, fresh and again, has that jammy flavor with a touch of pit/seed/stem earthiness, lemon citrus, very aceticly sour, a little vinegar and red wine, wheaty finish. The mouthfeel is good, very lively and carbonated, coating, but prickly and abrasive, strong pucker sensation at the finish that is lightly dry.

Verdict: A delicious berliner from de Garde, one of the truer and jammier fruit expressions I've tried from them. The balance is nice, though quite sour and with a more aggressive texture but the bright flavors and supremely refreshing nature of this make it another winner.

A- Medium pink-reddish body. Beautiful two finger pink head, great retention time. Very nice lacing. Eventually settles into a thin collar. Wonderful appearance.

S- Rich raspberry and cherry aromas waft forth from the beer. The base berliner is a fantastic blank slate for all of these fruits. The cherry presence is more of a cherry flesh rather than a cherry skin type of aroma. The cherries complement the raspberries very well here- the raspberries provide a nice tart fruit flavour that is also mildly sweet, but not too sweet.

F- Rich raspberry jam, cherry juice. It's like biting into a raspberry with a piece of cherry inside of it. Wheat, lactic acid, a bit of yogurt round things out. Very tasty- the driving force here is the fruit, of course.

M- On the thinner side, but not too thin. Nice carbonation helps make up for the relatively thin body. Tartness is not overpowering but certainly makes my jaw shiver a bit. Very drinkable.

O- Very nice Berliner, I would not hesitate to drink this again. One of my favourite Bu's from de Garde.

This beer is insanely gorgeous. Only other beer that has that 'glow' to it is Fou.

Smell is nice and fruity. Prominent lacto character. I get plenty of barrel tannins in the nose. Also, there is a 'woodsy', almost 'evergreen' character hidden under the acid and fruit. Very nice and slightly more complex than I anticipated.

Taste is wonderfully flavorful. Sour levels aren't enamel-melting once it has warmed and opened up a little. This allows the berries to really jump out of the glass. Yogurty, lemony, cherry/raspberry goodness. Very easy to drink and not too sweet at all.

Mouthfeel is light bodied but with a surprising 'fullness' probably emparted from the barrel. Not too thin, but definitely light.

This beer was awesome. Easily put down the 750ml myself. I can't wait to see the other fruited Weisses from De Garde!

Pour is dark pink with an amber hue, light haze, and lots of light pink tight head that lingers for some time. Nose is big and bright cherry with tons of seedy raspberry. The raspberry are very pithy, seems very sour and tart. Flavor is a bit less seedy, more cherry with a balanced raspberry. a lot less tart than I would have thought but still has a hint of sourness. Moderate carb, very dry, light body.

Pale ruby in color, white head that dissipates quickly.

Strong fruit in the nose - Cheery and raspberry, as expected.

The flavors are overpowering. Both too sour and too sweet at the same time. Light mouthfeel, to be sure. More like a sour patch candy than de garde or a traditional sour.

Bottle by special delivery by a friend who visited Oregon.

On tap at the recent de Garde release event.

This beer smells great (think smucker cherry pancake syrup), and the cherrry aroma is intense. On the palate, I get the expected cherry sour component, with some underlying vanilla as well. The is very light on it's feet, but you would expect that, given the abv.

Pours a bright pinkish/purple with white head and some clarity. Such a nice appearance from the fruit! The nose is predominantly fresh picked raspberry paired with lactobacillus. The cherry doesn't seem to make much noise here, perhaps it adds to the acidic undercurrent. The flavor is straight raspberry and lacto tartness. Juicy fruits up front, nice puckering tartness to follow! a touch of grainy wheat on the finish. The barrel isn't detectable on my palate but that does not detract from how tasty this beer is! Mouthfeel is highly carbonated and light. Overall, a delicious fruited berliner!
