Good clarity with a straw-amber color appropriate to a lambic-cider hybrid. Raises a bit of a head, but with minimal retention, as expected from this sort of beer.
Immediately after the pour there is a definite, strong smell of sulphur, and maybe a hint of burnt rubber, but this dissipates in less than a minute leaving a pleasantly funky, cidery aroma.
Taste once again follows, toeing a line between a cidery lambic and a wild cider.
Crisp in the mouth, with good carbonation. Lingers for quite some time, but mildly.
I had some apprehension about this based on reports of the aroma, but I'm led to believe these are primarily coming from bottle-share type environments where everyone gets a couple ounces from a freshly opened bottle and only experiences the beer over a few minutes. For two full pours, consumed over an hour or so, it's not an issue after a minute or two.

This was a good but different offering from what I am used to from de garde. Was exactly as described, hard, sour apple cider. Had it once, wouldn't seek it out but definitely worth a try!
