Big fan of this one as a unique departure. Amazing flavor and complexity for the ABV. Wisps of smoke, earth, citrus on the nose. Moderate to sharp acidity, but decent roundness and an earthy tone followed by citrus zest. Goes brilliantly with fatty smoked or roasted foods.

Bottle shared by Barry last night, thanks man.

This one pours a cloudy shady yellow color, with a small head, and a little bit of lemon.

Smells really strongly of Yerba Mate tea, which provides a nice citrusy earthiness. There's some lemon tart candy aromas as well.

The Yerba Mate doesn't come through as strongly in the taste, but it's still there. The added citrus peel is much more prevalent in the taste than the aroma, though, which is cool. There's the typical level of Bu tartness and sourness, fairly sour here. There's a lot of flavor for something I believe was only 2.3% ABV.

This is light bodied, with a crisp, juicy mouthfeel. It's really refreshing.

A really unique entry in the Bu series. Quite tasty and very refreshing.

The beer pours a cloudy golden amber color with fairly good head retention and light lacing. The nose is the best thing about this beer, and the Yerba Mate really comes on strong. There is a very tea like aroma to this beer, and I thought it paired well with the citrus and noticeable sour component. On the palate, the sour flavor dominates, but it's not over the top, and I thought it was appropriate for the style. I pick up some of the tea flavor as well, which I thought enhanced the flavor profile nicely. The beer is very light on the palate, with a long, tart finish.

Nice beer. Not sure how much I'd want to drink of it (the sour, tart flavor is pretty intense), but this is a beer I was very happy to sample.

Pours a bright, clear yellow with no head. Aromas of lemon, grassy herbs, and something else that we settled on "stir fry" as a description. More lemon in the taste and a slight earthiness. Despite lacking appearance of carbonation, it's actually quite prickly in the mouth and finishes with a highly astringent acidity. I liked this more than I expected to, but still not really my cup of tea.

Earthy up front. Tea comes through very nice in the background and the subtle citrus is a great compliment
