From last night's tasting. Bottle thanks to Steve. Purple flat pour. Big berry aroma, some of the sour funk. Taste is more jelly jar berries, sweet and tart at the same time. Nice pucker at the end.

Light pink head. Peach hued Ruby red.

Big berry flavor. Reminds me of cranberries and raspberries. Funky and sour.

Medium bodied. Lively carbobation.

Another solid bu!

Pour is dark ruby red with a bubbly dark pink head. Nose is berry pith, a hint of chlorine, mild arsenic, hints of dark malt. Flavor is a bit sweeter, notes of cherry jolly rancher, moderate acidity through the finish, assertive carb and fuller body. Puckering on the jowls, faint fruity brett, overly sweet.

One of my favorite bu's to date. Very similar to Nocturn b3, but with more jam. It's not balanced by any means, but I never expect that with de Garde. When I want a super tasty fruit bomb, nobody does it better than them.

High carb that settles a bit after it opens up, crazy jammy marion berry (similar to blackberry), mid to high acidity but never too sour or acetic.

Edit: Overall to a 4.5. Wonderful in its own right, I just prefer stone fruits like nectarines and apricots.

Nice tartness but the marion berries add an odd flavor. Not that balanced or that acidic. I guess I must not be a fan of marion berries because this was the Bu that missed the mark the most for me.

I don't rate many beers this high but this De Garde imperial berliner made from marionberries is one of the best berliners / sours I've had. Everything is perfect from carbonation level, smell, taste, and feel. It almost taste like a jam in you mouth but in a very unbelievably good way. Everyone loved this beer and would love to have the opportunity to try this one again. Great example of a berliner and must try.

Deep red and purple in color. The aroma and taste have a lot of sweet berry jam, balanced by a nice woody spiciness. Kind of a subtle winter spice thing going on, but certainly not overpowering.
