10/21 bottling, 6.5%

A clear deep mahogany red with a deep pink head that falls off rapidly. The nose has a lovely balance of berries and the base beer. Deep, leathery and earthy blackberries with a sharp red raspberry brightness and a mild blueberry skin tannin character. Moderate anthocyananin. These characteristics pair well with the earthy, damp wood base beer, funky and mildly spicy. The palate has these same flavors, but fabulously integrated and really well focused. Some de Garde berry beers end up unbalanced, but boy, this one's a beauty. The brightness from the raspberry character focuses the blackberry notes wonderfully, and the earth and tannins from the berries meld seamlessly with the base beer and its mushroomy and spicy funk. Drying, soft, lactic and coaxing on the finish with supple but firm berry notes. Lovely stuff.

Poured from fridge temp to a tulip. Pours a beautiful raspberry color. Good carbonation. Bubbles lingered for a good 10 minutes. Smell is out of this world. Getting a good amount of vanilla, and a huge burst of berry. Sweet, sour, blackberry, cherry, lemon. A bit of funk and definitely a lot of earthy notes. The mixture of notes is just amazing for me. It's refreshing, but really distinct. Taste is SOUR. This is a surprise. Huge notes of berry, but the mouth-puckering sour is incredible. This seriously might be one of the sourest beers I have had. I love sour, so this is amazing. It's like a sour patch kid mixed with a barrel of blackberries. Beautiful. Feel is medium - definitely lingers. Overall, I am a huge fan of this beer.

Poured a pale ruby color with a pink head of foam. It smelled of marionberries and oak. Very sour bite up front with some oakiness. A puckering mouthfeel that you can feel in your lower jaw.

L: pours a bright red, big juicy red berry purée
S: sweet tart berries
T: just like the nose. Tons of berries, sour with no funk.
F: puckering sourness with some drying.

One of the best beers that I've ever had. Not overly sour, this beer had the perfect amount of tartness. Medium mouthfeel with great neon purple color. The berry flavor is out of this world.

Ruby raspberry color. Pink head that fades away.

This one has the typical de Garde sourness here. Acidic with lemon citrus and a ton of berries. I have never had a marionberry, but I am guessing this tastes like if I was eating one. Reminds me of raspberries and cherries.

Another solid THE beer, but just so sour. I wish they could dial that down a bit. Quality stuff here.

750ml bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a darker purple-reddish body, one finger white head, retention is solid, not much lacing. Typical to DeGarde, it pours with that big head, but fades fairly quickly. Smells of rich jammy berries, a bit of acetic tartness, light oak, light funk and a bit of cereal grain. It's mostly the fruit here. Flavour follows; fair bit of jammy berries, presumably marionberries, good-moderate vinegary tartness, a bit of oak, not particularly funky. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, on the lighter end, good crisp acetic acidity that keeps you from chugging the beer quickly. Another solid beer from De Garde; these The series tend never to really disappoint.
