Notes: A new farmhouse wild ale. This spontaneous beer is fermented and aged in oak, then refermented in secondary oak tank with a huge amount of whole Northwest grown Morello and Montmorency tart cherries. Bright in color, flavor and texture with a pronounced and complex tart cherry character, this beer is a deft integration of fruit and nuanced base beer.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a gorgeous dark pink/red with little head. Nose is tart cherries, leather, port, citrus and a bit of funk. The taste is...wow. A bit tart and sour up front, but not too overwhelming. A nice funky leather taste, with a grape peel thread going through it. A huge amount of tart cherries, bread, and a light citrus taste. Mostly lemon. I tell ya, De Garde doesn't miss for me. This is one robust and smooth. Overall, this beer is incredible, as expected.

Poured from a 750mL bottle into a DeGarde tulip glass. Acquired in a trade.

Pours a dark pink body with a three finger frothy pink head that sticks around for a while to leave good lacing and a solid layer of retention. A nice looking beer for sure.

Aromas are light but inviting, cherries and tart acidity, a little grassy and bretty funk in the background.

On the tongue, upfront is moderate dry tartness, lactic acid but not much fruit upfront. This changes with the follow through, where the cherries start coming through with some funk and oak. The finish is dry but on the aftertaste, sweet cherries come through strong for a really nice finish. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation, really easy to drink for 8.4%.

Thoroughly enjoying, probably one of the less sour de Garde's I've had but the subtle cherry presence and easy drinkabilty makes it for a beverage that I could drink every day.

Thanks to Thomas & Jenny for sharing!
Deep crimson color, lasting foam and spotty lace.
Odd sterile gauze Brett aroma, cherries come through as it warms. Nice pie cherry taste, puckering lemon sourness. Dry aftertaste with lingering cherry notes. Fairly well carbed and effervescent, easy drinking. Somewhat one dimensional but it delivers on the complex sour cherry notes but that's it.
