Notes:
The Château is a four year blend of spontaneously fermented and aged barrels, with an average total age of approximately 29 months in oak. After tasting, blending, transferring and bottling, the beer was further conditioned in bottles for approximately 5 more months.
All of our favorite multi-year blends have a notable Brettanomyces funk to them, but each individual composition expresses its own unique personality. As a rather old composition, this beer leans in a much funkier direction. Mineral and earth characteristics dominate the aroma, with a complexity and intensity matched in the taste. It finishes with a very dry and crisp feel, allowing a lingering impression of the aged barrels and Brett character.

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a DeGarde uhh.. not sure what kind of glass this is.
Pours a moderately hazy orange body with a frothy white head that reduces slowly and leaves little lacing.
Aromas of oak and lactic sourness, citrus, barnyard funk, green apples, pickles, hay, smells pretty tart!
On the tongue, heavy oak compliments super tart, dry citrus, dusty basement, vibrant citrus, peppery spices, finishing astringent with an oaky aftertaste. Medium body, medium high carbonation, wouldn’t necessarily call it “refreshing” as it’s pretty sour to actually drink quickly. Tasty nonetheless!

Foggy yet glowing with a yellow to burnt amber gradient and a persistently fuzzy eggshell head.
Super woody, oaky, dusty and funky, this one is really complex, perhaps more so than I'm able to adequately perceive at this juncture. Toasted sesame pairs with tart grapefruit and sauv blanc as a fluffy carbonation does little to mitigate a still quite sour body that finishes paper dry.

Wow. Absolutely stunning. Medium lighter copper body. Crisp lemon. Lots of it. Balanced by wet hay and leather. Mild neutral oak. Crisp medium carbonation. Complex and substantial, not particularly dry. Definitely prefer this blend to its release contemporary, The Broken Truck No. 6.

750ml bottle thanks to Steve. Golden pour with a soft white head. Aroma starts with the requisite de Garde funk and citrus notes. Taste follows with light tartness, fruity flavors and earthy elements.
