Our version of a barrel-fermented and barrel-aged Berliner-Weisse, but fermented with ambient yeast and bacteria. Tart with citrus and fruit notes, a subtle grain character, and a hint of funk.

Man do I miss this beer. Are they making it again? Damn near borderline criminal that Hottenroth and this aren't being made.

Pours a standard golden/yellow with some haze. Interestingly enough, it has more color going for it than a lot of beers that are 2-3x as strong abv. 1/2" white head on it. Big tangy lemon yogurt and Tillamook cow pasture notes in the nose. Yeah bouy, that's Americana right there. Would you also like some wheat and hay piles left to dry out after a rain? Its there.

Taste is remarkable how awesome they made this barrel fermented beer. Nice dry wood notes, crisp, bright wheat notes, the lemon tang smacks all the way. As the kids say "this shit slaps". It's pretty sour for a berliner weisse, prolly up around a 7 on the 10pt scale. Acidity seems to be at that level or slightly higher too. All in stride, makes the beer what it is, and it is awesome. Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Bu Weisse's retirement has got to go. Hey Hey, Ho Ho. Miz and Morrison are way better this second time around.

Pours a hazy golden color.
Funky blue cheese in the nose, taste is better with sour white wine and sour fruits. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

A really good beer; can't believe it is 2.3%.

1 Pint, 9.4 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a becker glass

This beer pours straw colored and is topped with an inch of white head that disappears quickly leaving no trace of its existence.

It has a tart aroma with hints of lemon and salt.

It begins tart, almost mouth puckeringly so, and dry. Some citrus flavor, especially lemon, come through the middle and into the finish. The finish is dry and acidic.

Medium mouthfeel

This is a fantastic Berliner weisse. It really hits to spot on a summer day.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Aroma is funky with hay and barnyard notes plus the underlying grains. Taste is tart, lactic, astringent with a hint of aspirin.
