Smells like gin and hops. Flowery and juicy body with a nice dry finish. Lots of flavor in the mid palate. Enjoyable saison that is wildly complex from nose to the very finish.

Batch #3

Color Golden orange with aggressive carbonation.

Nose is tropical fruits, herbal, and a tad grainy. Smells like it's going to be very sour.

Tastes oaky, fruity, sour and bitter. Some pretty unique flavors which seem to hang around and change for quite a while.

Medium body with a nice amount of carbonation.

Great beer, very unique.

The beer comes in a hazy golden color.

The aroma has tons of complexity of sweetness along with this almost adjunct aroma of herbal and spice quality. A hay and funkiness as well.

The flavor follows with a light apricot and bubblegum flavor. The herbal in the aroma is not as prevalent. A wonderful barrel character along with a hay and barnyard funkiness.

There is a lightly carbonated mouthfeel with tons of creaminess, a highlight of the beer.

Appearance- Pours a slight finger of pure white head. Body is as you would expect- hazy grapefruit/dark straw. Lots of lacing left behind.

Nose- Lots of bubblegum. Faint hints of watermelon along with other fruits- cherry, melon, and peach. This is described as a Wild Saison but there is nothing funky on the nose. Hints of Hi-C, pink lemonade as well. Not bad, just not the aroma I expect from this style.

Taste- The nose is very indicative of the flavor profile. Light pink lemonade, lots of fruitiness which tastes generic and flabby. Some woody hops around the edges of the tongue. Lots of bubblegum/lollipop flavors that doesn't integrate well with the hops. This could be desirable for some, but it doesn't work for me. Ever so insignificant notes of straw or barnyard but not as much as I like in a saison.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied and a bit too heavy for the style. More carbonation would improve the texture and improve its rendition of the style.

Overall- 3.5. Not a bad beer. Worth trying. It loses points because it fails to truly represent the style. Probably a B+ if it were reclassified.
