Poured from a 16oz can stamped BBF 4/23/22 to a tumbler.
Dark black body of course, 1/2" tan head. Lacing only occurs transiently as you swirl the glass.
Aroma is musty coffee and dark chocolate. No sense of maple.
Taste is similar, rich black coffee with dark chocolate undertones. Subtle maple comes in as it warms. Despite the dry taste for much of the swig, the finish has a hint of sweetness, so I'll attribute that to the syrup.
Mouthfeel is medium for a stout. There is some stickiness on the lips from this beer.
Overall- I love a dry stout, and I liked this one. But for all the occurrences of the word "maple" on the label, the beer does not come off as advertised.

16oz can. Stamp on bottom lip reads 'PKGD ON : 10/25/23'.
Dark brown colored body, with a fizzy light tan head that disappears in a minute or so. No lacing.
Aroma is coffee forward with sweet maple in the background. Dark roasted malts.
Taste is sour coffee and the sweetness of the maple syrup. Chocolate expresses both sweet milk and bitter dark. Dark fruit.
Less than medium mouth feel. Has some stickiness. Okay carbonation.
Exists in the sour and bitter territory rather than overly sweet.

It pours pitch black with a beige head. The aroma is a nice combination of roast coffee and a cinammon-y sweet-suggesting aroma from the maple syrup. The taste is roasty upfront, with burnt bread notes, but gradually allowing the sweetness to come through. Light body. A fun stout to have and I can totally see it being part of breakfast.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of maple, coffee, chocolate and toffee. Sweet maple, toffee, caramel and chocolate with a subtle coffee bitterness.

On nitro tap at the Vermont Tap House in Rutland Vermont (Look = 4.75) and revisited with a 16 oz can (Look = 3.75) in November 2023.

Appearance. Nearly black and opaque body with fine, thick, nitro head or a short, weak head.

This is a lightly smokey stout with some subtle maple sweetness. More smoke in the aroma than the flavor which has a substantial coffee note. Overall it's moderately bitter for the style. Looks and feels great from a nitro tap.

Looked nice, smelled nice, tasted better than I anticipated, but the mouth was thin and unfortunately tasted like a store brand maple soda can that you’d find in the inexpensive cold beverage endcap at that weirdo grocery store you stumbled upon in the late 90s while you were in college in Spokane.

Pours a dark brown color with a finger of beige head. The nose has fairly potent coffee notes. By contrast, the flavor profile is only mildly roasty. The body appears thin for the style.

This presented an odd combination of sensations, some pleasant, others disappointing. Deep coffee brown color, almost no head despite an aggressive pour, and that head dissipated almost immediately, leaving no lacing. First impression was of sweetness followed by a distinct roasted malt flavor that drifted just over the edge into scorched malt. Odd to have the color and general taste of a stout with none of the creaminess, head, or complexity. Seems rather different from one I drank several years ago. Not on my list of brews to buy again.

Maple Breakfast Stout from 14th Star Brewing. 16 oz can. Purchased from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA on 09/02/23 for $4.00 (Including tax) - $ 0.25/oz. In reefer at store, stored at 34 degrees at home. Reviewed 16/02/23 (Review 3042). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Printed on bottom rim “PKGD ON 11/01/22”. Served at 49.6 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 54.1 degrees. Can says “Store and serve 45-50 degrees F”.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Deep Amber (SRM 15), clear.
Body – Ruby Brown (SRM 24), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear lite, slightly translucent with light penetration mostly at the edges (Ruby).
Head – Average (Maximum 4 cm, aggressive center pour), wheat, medium density, quickly receding to a 0.3 cm crown fed by slight carbonation, and a complete rocky cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Weak coffee - No malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins with mildly bitter coffee, with a little sweetness appearing in the aftertaste. No malt, no hops, no yeast. No ethanol (6.5 % ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. A spectral maple flavor materializes and then vanishes.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, short of creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Decent breakfast coffee drink but I wouldn’t call it a stout – any malt and hops are too well hidden by the coffee.

This is a murky brown, not even close to black. Maybe the ugliest stout I've seen. Tastes like a weak, nutty brown ale with just a trace of bland coffee. No maple at all. Not gonna finish this.

Good stout which lacks creamyness dramatically. Taste and smell are ok but the missing foam (you have it for fife seconds) and no lacing. Disappointing...

Building a hugely thick, fluffy and dense tan head, this appears as a classic nitro stout with a dull black body.

I'm actually a little flummoxed here...there's not even really a hint of sweetness--maple or otherwise. There's just not much happening on the palate besides characteristics of Irish stout.

Demerits for false promises, though this draft was poured at The Meltdown in Barre, VT, so I hope I'm reviewing the right beer.
