Our Tribute Double IPA is a celebration of hops, pure and simple. A simple and smooth malt base serves as the stage for the hops to perform. Tribute has a beautiful golden color, an aroma brimming with citrusy hops, and a deliciously smooth hop flavor and dry finish.

Nicely hazed and even cloudy burnt orange body. Thin creamy off white head leaves sparse beads of lace. The aroma is fantastic. A melange of juicy melon, guava, canteloupe plus some nectarine and peach and pineapple...the epitome of a juicy tropical nose. The nose translates nicely to the palate, but there is also an underlying sweet maltiness that somehow ACCENTUATES the hoppiness in this beer. I'm not all that hip on "sweet maltiness" in DIPAs, but in this beer, it actually creates a final overall effect that is better. I'm not sure how this is achieved, but that is exactly how I'd describe it. The juicy tropical hop tones are present in spades. What is absent you may ask? Untoward and obtrusive bitterness. That is what is absent. I don't shy away from raw bitterness, but sometimes it can be overpowering in DIPAs. Not true in this case. This is just an unbelievably balanced and drinkable hop centric DIPA. I believe this is my 100th DIPA that I've reviewed. It is easily Top 10.

From a 16oz can dated 8/3/23 into 20oz pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with about one finger of white head. Good retention and lacing.

Smells of citrus (orange) and peach on crack of can. Dank earth and marijuana on warming.

Light flavors. Citrus juice, piney bitterness.

Slightly sticky but easy to drink. Medium bodied. Dry finish. Low carb.

This is nice enough. Serviceable DIPA.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, three finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and lightly piney hops, light orange and lemon, touches of pineapple and dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, lemon, light orange and hints of mixed tropical fruit; citrus rind and dankness in the finish. Nice assertive bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Appears to be a can with a few months on it and both the herbal hop character in the aroma and taste seem to be subdued, but can be attributed to age. It has still held up well and has a pleasant West Coastish profile to the hop blend with great citrus and dank notes and hints of pine. Malt is semi-dry, but supportive of the hops. This is apparently the brewery's flagship IPA and a worthy one. I think I'd like a fresher one quite a bit.

This is very much my kind of IPA. Purchased at Costco, it has a decent level of IBUs while maintaining a trace of fruit (grapefruit to me). The abv of 8.1 seems appropriate for a double and supports the flavor. I will be buying this again if I can find it.

Poured into an imperial pint glass at Mulligans in Manchester, VT. Pours golden yellow with two fingers worth of head and plenty of foam; slowly recedes. Subtle taste of undefined citrus and bittery hops; served a bit warm which I think didn't help flavor profile (but should of?). Decent.

can into glass
Quite a crumpet looking, dimpled head of white, leaving lots of lacy residue, as it drops. Medium light golden orange, with haze, when one pours the entire can at once, clear if not, to the look. Good amount of medium toasted, caramelized malt aroma, lifting up the predominate aromas of guava, tangerine peel and some pineapple. There is a bite to this and a hint of alcohol, amidst the taste phase. Quite a good level of tangerine/ lemon peel flavor, with a fair amount of malt to tame the citrus peel bite, and keep it tolerable.

No packaging date on the can.
Beautious clear, amber-gold, tight white head with good legs and retention.
The aroma is a tribute to all the malt lost in tasteless support of the Galaxy - Citra - Simcoe alpha acids citrufying the masses who flock to drink 3 letters they do not understand - IPA.
This has a warm and welcoming nose of freshly cracked grains steeping in a tun. Herbal and conifer notes waft in with a hint of fresh OJ. Sweet, nutty aroma with hoppy compliments.
The flavor is straight up old school IPA - balanced malt and hop character with the spotlight on the hop complexity. Rather than overshadowing and outshining, the sappy pine notes wrap around the pecans in toffee flavors of the malt, lending some heft to the medium bodied beer.
The finish is long, slightly dry, a lingering peppered lemongrass and a tickle of alcohol.
Well made. Great balance. Much appreciated.

16 ounce can in a cordial glass.

Lively golden straw color with a modest white cap that laces up nicely.

Citrus, pine-dank-earthy mix, dry malt, and floral and herbal notes in the aroma.

Grapefruit citrus and light caramel malt flavors. Some pine and herbal tea.

Medium bodied and pleasantly dry finish. Some hop bitterness and not very sweet.

Imperial IPA at 8.1 abv that drinks a bit lighter and not sweet. That works.

Pours a hazy straw color with a small head that subsides to lacing.

Smells of malt and sweet slightly dank hops. Tastes sweet with grapefruit citrus notes and a mildly bitter hop finish.

Medium light body and carbonation.

Overall I would say this IPA is pleasantly understated in its approach to being a hop forward beer.

I actually bought this by mistaking its can for something from a well known Vermont brewer. Happy informative mistake!

S: Pine, sweet citrus, grass, crystal malt.

T: Big bitterness upfront that moves into hop flavors of pine, grapefruit and fresh cut grass.

F: Full bodied with a drying finish.

Overall: A delicious and we'll balanced double IPA.

Nothing remarkable about this one. Too fizzy, not enough hops richness or balance. Meh!
