Not bad. But not really tasty enough to have again. I was surprised that I even tried a red ale but it just helped me decide I still don't like them.

This feels like an amateur brew to me. It's a "drinkable" homebrew at best.

They had Valor on draft at a local minor league ballpark for $6 and I opted for the $4 Bud Light, since the level of shame associated with drinking either beer in public was approximately the same.

Nothing from 14th Star Brewing has impressed me and I doubt anything ever will.

Unfortunately, unbalanced and watery.

On tap at the brewery.

Medium amber in color, clear, with a thin white head that held at a ringlet, dotting the glass with lace. Aroma of biscuity malts, herbal hops, ammonia. This kind of fell apart for me in the taste department. Herbal hop notes soon gave way to an uncomfortable soapiness, hints of ammonia, overlaid on a biscuity malt base. The off-flavors dominated, unfortunately. Body was light-medium, mouthfeel was crisp, but again, kind of off and awkward, making it something I probably wouldn't go back for again, especially considering this was fresh from the source.

Initial scent is hops just as it describes.. Pours a rich, dark golden brown, which was surprising for an amber.. Initial taste is very light and goes down well, but then lots of hoppy bitterness kicks in and then finishes subtly with the malts.. You don't get the normal Amber notes..

As it warms up, tastes mellow out more, would suggest drinking cool not ice cold

16 oz can. Hazy amber with thin off white head, spotty lace. Mild fruity hop aroma. Taste is light toasty malt with some hop bitterness, but mostly just back end bitterness. I like hops so this was ok for me, but flavors clashed a little. Bitterness hangs around a touch too long. Thin mouthfeel.
