Bottled June 6, 2017
Best before June 6, 2019
Batch: 0446
On the bottle it says: "this beer will age well" - I disagree with that!
The beer pours dark brown to black with a one finger high brown-beige head that leaves almost no lacing on the glass.
Nose: Sour milk (that's not good!), coffee, chocolate and leather.
Taste: Coffe, dark chocolate and roasted malt but also old, sour milk...
This beer has NOT age well :(
To bad I have to give this to the sink.
I should have had this beer fresh.
My rating: NA - Infected beer!

De Bierkraft. En copa Teku. Viendo You 1x08. Mas de un mes pasada de fecha y parece sorprendentemente fresca, con un perfil lupulado asombrosamente rico tanto en nariz como boca y muy bebible

Pours black with low foam.
Smell is a bit sweet, with notes of chocolate and roasted coffee.
Taste starts of with sweet chocolate, and adds roasted coffee and a bit of bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medum, well carbonated.
Overall, a good Black IPA, that's a little bit shallow in the flavor, would have liked some more complexity.

Almost pitch black, darkest shade of Ruby/mahogany held against bright light! Huge creamy tan head with good retention.
Fruity hoppy aroma rivals the best IPAs! As it warmed up, roasted malt aroma fighting to assert itself against the intense hop aroma. Sweet resinous hoppy pine aroma when swirled!
Excellent balance between roasted malt and hops! This has the citrus hoppy taste of the best IPAs, along with the chocolate of the best porters!
Finishes with a dry Licorice feel!
Luscious creamy smooth mouthfeel! Slight oily texture. Medium carbonation is spot on for the style!
Nice hoppy burp!!
Top marks for style; this is how a black IPA should be like IMHO!
Batch No: 0277.
Bottled on: Feb-16.
Best Before: Feb-18.

Bourbon Barrel Aged version
Color: deep brown, opaque, beige foam, not very durable, slightly but still adorns the glass.
Aroma: delicate coffee, roasted notes and cherries.
The taste is dominated by notes of roasted, mainly coffee, the rest is hidden.
Gentian: coffee, dry. Saturation average, alcohol perfectly hidden.

330ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast
Poured a deep black colour. Light tan head poured fairly thick and foamy then faded slowly to good thickish covering... lots of sticky lacing most of the way down the glass...
Aroma - Juicy tart fruits (orange zest, pears, lemons) followed by sweet and roasted malts, light chocolate and coffee notes, faint brown sugar traces, strong piney resin and citrus hopiness, raw nuts - pistachio, some rubberiness, honey, cut wet grass / hay...
Taste - Tons of piney, grassy and citrus hop bitterness up front... juicy tart fruits (strong grapefruits, lemons, bitter oranges), nice caramel malts and notes of floral honey balance out the hops, strong chocolate notes, quite herbal, some liquorice, nice strong roastiness...
M&D - Fairly smooth with a little oiliness in the background then some sharpness comes through... full bodied... fairly drinkable for a 9% brew
Overall - An excellent and slightly unusual brew... recommended
