Murky orange pour. Citrus nose, accompanied by mango, banana, and a faint coffee note. Tropical fruits on the taste with a high bitterness. Doesn't quite scream 1000, but it's high. Some of the bitterness seems coffee-like. Full bodied and creamy. Enjoyable IIPA, probably much better fresher.

Nice beer of a dark orange/amber color. It makes a delightful foam of medium size.
Smell is full of hops and you can feel notes of passion fruit and other citrus like grapefruit, it's possible to preview how bitter this beer is by the aroma.
Taste is similar but with some green tea notes, of high level of bitterness but also a bit sour in the beginning - nevertheless I thought this beer was more bitter than it actually is.
The level of bitterness balances perfectly with the level of alcohol.
The most incredible feature of this beer is how the extremely bitter and dry aftertaste lasts..
This beer is more light that it seems, it's really delightfull.

Invicta has impressed me, though did it really need to go the route of the hypothetical 1000 IBU beer? Hoppy beers are becoming increasing popular in Brazil, so Invicta can be the first there to claim that flag. From a 500 ml bottle (thanks Sergio and crew!), on to the beer:

When you open and taste a beer that levels itself as 1000 IBU, your palate goes into hiding mode. On the contrary, this beer is merely modestly hoppy, but plenty good (which is the way I'd rather have it). The aroma brings an array of tropical fruity notes, with mango and pineapple highlighting that aspect. Its taste is actually quite balanced, but also hoppy to a point. My cousin said that it reminded him of Arrogant Bastard Ale, and I'd say he's on target. The beer is not bitter, hoppy enough to bring mango and tangerine, but malty enough where toasted sugar gives the hops a run for their money.

The skinny; damn good. Keep it going Invicta!

Hazy amber color with a four fingers thick mushroom head with great retention and leaving laces.
Bitter aroma of Simcoe with grapefruit notes and slightly toasted malts.
Delicious bitter flavor with notes of tea bags, resin and grapefruits. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with good carbonation of tiny bubbles.
Definitely passed my sneeze bitter test, I got it several in a row. Relatively high drinkability, off course you do feel its IBU power, but it’s has a pleasant feel for any hop head. I was surprised with the execution of this beer, got closer to the Mikkeller release. Though, I had it really fresh from the producer. Some extra complexity could be further added, and amp up the dry hop to have an aroma more compatible with the overall beer. Really worth trying.
