i think most brewers by now have discovered that a ton of citra and mosaic and amarillo or some combination of them in a dry hop really makes a basic pale or ipa type pretty extraordinary. beers like this mosaic drives beauty from lost nation are no longer uncommon, this is a flavor and aroma profile we are all familiar with now, but its just so juicy and delicious that we keep the demand high for beers like this. this is not new, but it is surely something special. lighter in color and grain flavor than a lot of them, its a pretty unmolested mosaic experience. hazy and wheaty looking, more yellow than golden, no visible sediment but the beer is definitely cloudy. good inch of white head on it and the classic mosaic dry hop nose, tropical fruit led by pineapple and citrus, very summery, very light. the flavor is all mosaic too, very little from the grain, a fresh and hard working ale yeast dries this right out. excellent carbonation and a sort of creamy feeling, heartier than it really is. bitterness is kept to a minimum here, which seems appropriate given the general lightness of the beer as a whole. it doesnt have to be original to be awesome, and this is proof that when we as a community of brewers discover something that works this well, we all might as well take a stab at it. good stuff, glad they are canning now too!

Been wanting to try this beer ever since I read how well it did in the Paste blind taste test. Brewed 12/13. Drank out of TEKU.

Look: Light straw yellow with a medium plus haze and a pinky of bright white head.

Aroma: Big berry and tropical fruit on the nose with a hint of dank on the back end. Explodes out of the glass. Definitely the highlight of this beer.

Taste: Aroma translates to the palate with a slight sweetness up front and a light citrus bitterness on the back end. Good overall flavor but its not quite as flavorful in the mouth as the nose would indicate(probably due to abv).

Mouthfeel: at 5.5% its a little a bit optimistic to expect amazing mouthfeel and while it is a little on the thin side its down right chewy for it's ABV.

Overall(style points): I have to say, this beer totally exceeds all my expectations. Based purely on its availability I was convinced it was going underwhelming but in fact it's one of the best beers I've had in it's ABV range. 93.5 points!

L: Straight hazy lemonade, classic New England style IPA with the unfiltered look. Looks delicious with a dim yellow/ bright orange pour.
S: Fantastic aromas from the mosaic of peach, pineapple, lemon, grass and orange juice that linger on the nose. No malt presence whatsoever.
T: Mosaic hops upfront with a nice bitterness that leads into the citrus burst that tastes of grapefruit, lemonade and orange juice with no malts at all. Very light on the palate.
F: Very light body despite the hazy pour, that one would assume would have more of a heavy body and mouthfeel.
O: This is a very refreshing IPA from Lost Nation, this is very session-able at 5.5% and is great for a nice warm day. The mosaic hops presence is very strong and this has a nice variety of citrus flavors with no malts if thats something your'e into, which I am. Nice work from this brewery.

On tap at Sugarburg in Brooklyn, NY.

This one pours a slightly cloudy and hazy golden orange, with a half inch head, and lots of sticky lacing.

Smells dank as all get out, with some fruity acidity on the nose, and tons of pine and herbal aromas as well.

This is a refreshingly bitter beer here, with tons of dank, herbal qualities to it, and a sharp and snappy bitterness. There's some grapefruit, passionfruit, and mango here, but the more bitter flavor characteristics are definitely dominant here.

This is medium bodied, with a very crisp and lively mouthfeel, along with a moderate level of carbonation.

It was really cool to be able to find this one on draft, it was super refreshing and quite supremely bitter.

Light amber pour with a slight haze, one finger of creamy white head that stayed put in the Teku and laced it nicely all the way down the glass. Plenty of tiny bubbles, very lively and nice looking glass of beer.

Ripe tropical fruit as in mango, with a note of spice, gorgeous aroma.

The seductive aroma carries into the flavor beautifully. There seems to be two sensations going on at the same time in terms of the taste, one being ripe mango, the other being a spicy, peppery flavor. Simply delicious and inviting, very easy to drink.

Mouthfeel is light medium, the carbonation is brisk and seems just right for this style. Nice crisp finish.

As the gentleman filling my growler said, this beer is like chewing on Mosaic hops! Lost Nation hit a home run with this IPA, this would be so great in cans. I Highly recommend this Mosaic masterpiece.

Poured into an oversized tulip glass

Pours a very nice, hazy orange-yellow color similar to orange juice. The pour gathers a nice frothy, white head. The color is very rich and just invites you in for a juicy IPA.

The nose picks up citrus fruits and pineapples right off the bat. You can pick up hints of passion fruit and mango and earthy, floral notes from the hops.

Plenty of grapefruit and citrus rinds on the first sip. Next sip gives the same with a hit of hoppiness at the back. The Mosaic hops don't hit you hard and is well rounded. There are subtle hints of malts in the mix, little biscuit in there.

Good carbonation on the feel. Good body that is not heavy and nowhere near light. Finishes dry without any oily residue. Great execution.

One of the best New England IPAs I have had lately. Very drinkable and not one that will have me tired of tasting after 1 beer. Little disappointed that I was only limited to one 4 pack when I bought these and wish I could have more. Thanks Lost Nation!

16 oz can poured onto a dog. Canned 7/30/15. Sampled on tap at the brewery as well.

Pours a cloudy, milky golden peach color with a dense creamy off white head. Intense tropical nose, dank and ripe with red fruit, grapefruit juice, papaya, and grass. Loved this on draft but flavor in can isn't quite as sweet and fruity as draft, and picks up a little more of a herbal, onion-y tinge. Regardless, grapefruit juice and pineapple still dominate with pleasant bitterness throughout and not much of a malt contribution to the flavor . Full thick body, mild carb, chewy and dense. Cans are still good, but am disappointed after trying it on tap.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Consumed one week after pick up of cans from brewery.

Pours out of the can looking like pineapple juice, hits the glass and fills the body with cloudy and almost turbid looking appearances. Lemon solid yellow, but not really glowing and very murky. Head is quite even and bright white off the pour. Big retention and nice even bubbles at first, but breaks down into big soapy quality.

Classic enticing aroma. Big notes of tropical grapefruit, and hints of pineapple. Large and big, with a rolling bit of earth and weedy like character following behind it. Hops it is, and there is no escaping this one as it comes off noticeable and no escaping. Luckily not overkill either.

Palate manages no surprises except the expected. Juiced slightly a little wet, but seems to be more in the pale ale category at such a low abv the lighter feel works out for me. Bursting hop mid palate of juiced pineapple and grapefruit. Some of the classic weedy and earth quality really gets opening up on the swallow, moving with a good bitterness that isn't dry then to a real minty mouthwash quality. Light bodied sweetness of the malts adds a simple contrast, and just lets the hops play and take the stage.

I would almost put this as a great hop forward pale ale, but it works out even better for me that way since I seem to prefer it's easier drinking, and staying away from session IPA thinness. Solid real good brew, hop heads will have fun.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass.

Appearance - Hazy pale orange. Big white head and beautiful lacing.

Smell - Orange and garlicky mosaic hops. Just hops.

Taste - I feel like Mosaic needs a little sweetness to bring out the orange flavors more than the garlic and this has zero sweetness. Lots of garlic as a result. Lightly grainy. Low bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Very light. Well carbonated.

Overall - Very drinkable. I think I like the Galaxy a bit better though.

This beer pours a very cloudy bright yellow color that reminds me of pineapple juice, very beautiful. The head is 2 fingers and bright white with decent retention and some spotted lacing. Smell is astounding! If you closed your eyes you would think you were sniffing an actual mango and a pink grapefruit. Taste is the same with a bit of mosaic funk and some sort of herbal spiciness. Feel is light, refreshing and very drinkable. Overall a fantastic IPA. Up there with the best in VT, just on the lighter side.

The ubiquitous praise for this beer vexes me.

It's certainly not disgusting; it actually has a pretty pleasing mix of light tropical fruits and very light (but discernible) musty hops. It's all somewhat muted, however, and only exacerbated by the paper-thin mouth feel. The reviews that compare this to flavored seltzer water are spot on; it tastes like slightly dank citrus-flavored Polar seltzer water. As seltzer? It's pretty decent. But as a beer? Meeeeh.

Fantastic example of a single hop IPA. Incredibly bright, juicy aroma that smells like a fresh cut grapefruit with hints of pineapple and tropical fruit. Very pleasant body, and balanced bitterness, with sweet fruit in the middle and a grapefruit bitterness to finish, with soft spiciness in the background. Highly recommended.

Every time i have this IPA I seem to enjoy it more than the last time. Brilliantly citrus on the nose, straw in color and a wonderful balance in the mouth with a wonderful effervescence that begs for you to take another sip. This should be on taps across america.

2 week old can poured into a glass. Dry, bland, uninspiring IPA. Mosaic hopped beers should be bursting with flavor, this is bursting with mediocrity.
