A traditional German beer style that was all but extinct 30 years ago. An amazingly refreshing beer brewed with coriander and sea salt. The tart, dry finish combined with the hint of salt and citrus leaves your palate craving another sip.

Poured from a 16 oz can purchased at Shaw's in Manchester. Pours clear, light yellow with plenty of carbonation and bubbles. Tart taste with subtle hops but very refreshing. Not a big fan of the style but this definitely makes me want more.

Light haze on a dirty yellow body. Head fizzles away to looking flat, though bubbles can be seen rising through the body and popping nearly immediately on the surface.

Soft, light to moderately tart, with a little sweetness bringing a little extra body. Salt and lime with the lightest vinegar note add to a crackery malt/wheat base. Just a little earthiness, which isn’t so obvious in a colder state. The nose fairly closely matches the taste on the salt and tart side.

The light sweeter note I am getting from this is just throwing it out of line for me. I think it could be a notch better if that weren’t there as I think the tartness would gain just a bit more bite without it. Add to that a less lifeless look, and we’d have a true winner.

(16 oz can, no date/code; gifted a cold single... poured into a ~500 ml Gibraltar glass)

L: pale, straw-yellow liquid, slight haze... tall foam stand on pour; took two pours to empty can; foam sizzled away in short order... broken cap; thick, spitty collar

S: nearly pickle brine territory: spicing and saline funk; just missing garlic

T: pickle brine, flavors match the aromas, plus a grainy/floury, crackery malt foundation, the wheatiness of which lingers loud in the aftertaste... perhaps a mellow peppery warmth in the aftertaste

F: moderate effervescence and tart bite up front, with that spicy, peppery warmth prickling the palate long after each sip

O: my buddy hooked it up the other day; three tasty beers from a VT haul, with this one being as good if not better than the others... one of the more moreish Gose I've encountered (1812)

I used to really love this beer and call it one of my favorites. Several years latter, however, I'm finding it a bit lackluster, though still an enjoyable beer, especially at the end of a sunny work day.

L: Hazy pale yellow with a thin wispy head and no lacing.

S: A beautiful complex of grain, citrus, and hay. A slight sulfurous note is there, reminds me of kala namak.

T/M: Very crisp, tart, salty, and a big malty flavor. Some mild funkiness as well, it all blends well and results in a super refreshing flavor.

Overall: A very tasty brew, my main beer that I have enjoyed for the past three or four months. I will be drinking a lot of it this summer.

Had this at some restaurant in downtown Burlington in October 2019.

Pours a cloudy yellow with 1/2" white head, looks similar to a good looking hefeweizen. Aroma smacks of all the traditional gose notes: big time coriander and salt push over a salinity laden tartness.

Taste is quite nice, I think there is prolly a tad more coriander than I prefer, but if there is any style of beer I can handle a greater magnitude of coriander in (compared to say a hefeweizen since that style was mentioned earlier) it would be a gose, so this is still plenty good despite that aspect of my palate desires. Still hits refreshing. Also a higher than average amount of saltiness, but I mean, that is why you brought gose to the dance is it not?

Its not like that is all there is to the beer, there is a little bit of a grapefruit like bitterness and residual taste/mouth feel to it. I liked it, can't remember what I had for dinner, but this paired just fine with it (I also had a SNPA bc old habits die hard) .

16 oz can.

Pours a cloudy straw color with a large, sudsy white head. Modest retention with a few spots of lacing.

Strong citrusy aroma. Grainy, with plenty of salinity. Spicy, herbal coriander is present.

The flavor has lots of grapefruit and lemon zest. Cereal grains and very faint tartness. The sea salt coats the palate subtly but nicely.

Light body with moderately high carbonation. Prickly, with a slight lingering tartness. Highly drinkable.

Overall, this is a great Gose style beer, and perhaps pretty close to the standard. It has everything you want and expect whilst remaining drinkable and refreshing.

Thin white head without much retention, the yellow liquid more gauzy than hazy. Sour nose of grains, grapefruit, the sea salt more present than the coriander, a brief lactic note, not much fruit presence. Medium to full-bodied, tart but not all that biting and arguably smoother than could be expected. Really salty here, pushes everything to the background. Lemon to white grapefruit citrus, maybe some star fruit or nectarine. Given its weight easy to drink albeit the more you sip the drier the palate becomes. Nicely done.

16-oz. can (11/29/18) needed a hard pour to reach a half finger of white soapy froth with short retention and sliding spots of lace. Pale straw color, cloudy and semi-opaque.
Tart and sharply sour smell of wet wheat and faint sour milk.
The taste begins sour with low bitterness, coriander replaces hops, light saltiness.
Wheaty malt smooths out the middle. Tangy citrus is rushed along by latent carbonation.
The semi-dry finish lasts, a bit more salty and bitter. Sourness, salt and spice linger a while.
Light bodied, plenty of carbonation in reserve. Refreshing easy drinker, semi-smooth.
At 1st I was put off by the looks and smell, however this beer matches style guideline so well. The more I drink this beer the more I enjoy, last of the 4-pack.
