Stopped in around 4 pm on a Thursday in early July and was surprised at how empty the outside dining area was. Tried a handful of small pours before deciding on a pint of the mosaic IPA. Service was attentive. Had the smoked trout dip and pickled egg appetizers. Both were excellent! Didn’t check out the tap room so I cannot speak to that. Overall worth a visit if in the area or if staying in Stowe. Both the food and drink prices were very reasonable.

It's really too bad what the pandemic has done to this taproom, but at the same time, it's probably pretty convenient for locals who come here for barbecue and make reservations to eat. However, if you pull up expecting a pint, think again. If the weather is fine and it's not full of people waiting to eat, they might let you get a drink and hang out on the patio. But if neither of those things are true, then you will simply be turned away, and that's a damn shame.
So, as long as this pandemic continues to make Vermont one of the most cautious states in the Union, you better make sure you call ahead and make a reservation, and come hungry at that. The food smelled good, but we didn't get any, and were only able to get one drink over a 4 day weekend even though we were staying down the street in Morrisville.
Both the taplist and the taproom itself are very small. It's kind of cluttered and drab, which I'm guessing wasn't always the case. Not that any of that matters much, since you can only go in to buy to-go cans or order a draft while waiting for your seat, which is entirely outdoors under the roof's extended overhang. And I'm not entirely sure how that works in the winter, if it does at all.
Either way, even with the renown their gose has earned, this is no longer a recommended stop, at least not from me. While, yeah, fuck COVID and all, they have not adapted as well as other taprooms have, and I'm not sure they really wanted to.

Drove right by not expecting to see it on this highway we were on...
We had been traveling up rt100 on the big beer run through Waterbury/Stowe/Burlington and whatever close to that. We ended up pulling over in the Rock Art brewery lot! A nice surprise there as well.
It was too early to eat, but the food looked good. Our beer pours were all excellent... The pils I had was on point. Excellent service behind the bar, funny and attentive, even after I knocked over my first beer onto the floor!

Very cozy and rustic place, especially the taproom. Very good food out side in summer (outside). In winter you will have problems to get a seat (only inside). The beers are all great though the selection is quite small. Friendly staff.

Small town, northern Vermont location....rustic spot with great outdoor eating space (warm weather monthsonly.. obviously)
Also, bars inside, friendly staff, plenty of character, easy going and welcoming atmosphere, and a reputation for mighty tasty eats....no time to chow here for me..well worth checking out if you are lucky enough to be in the area.

Unplanned stop driving between Hill Farmstead and Alchemist. Had been recommended by Foam team as well as Eva and John (fellow beer tourists) at Foam Brewers the night before... but had not GPS’d it. Saw sign and used gps to guide last mile... which really helped. Place is just off the main drag. Initially looked like something squeezed into a large pole building facility. But quickly noticed a really nice outdoor fence hidden patio as well as small somewhat dark inside bar. Lots of people in and out enjoying a beautiful weekday afternoon. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice spread of tart beers ... some saisons ; goses; wild ales as well as multiple IPA choices. Loved The Wind and it’s Blueberry Variant (maybe even more). Excellent guest list of great alternatives including a Barleywine; cider ; kolsch; and Orval (!). “We who wander are not lost!” Is chalked on the bar’s wall beer menu. New motto for “Beer Safari”!
Was on a time budget and couldn’t take time for food , menu looked great and heard food there was awesome. Oh well... next time when a better planned stop. Maybe lesser known but very good beers and a great stop. Go so far as to say must stop if traveling between the 2 big destination breweries.

Best food I had on my Vermont trip. Highly underrated brewery as well. Great Mosaic IPA, Gose is world renouned and the "Wind" is a great funky /hoppy sour ale. Lots of great stuff comes out of this brewery. A must stop if visiting Stowe/Waterbury area.

I stopped here after visiting Alchemist and Hill Farmstead. Great place, lots of outdoor seating plus plenty of room inside. I sat inside so I could chat with the bartender. My mistake was eating at the food truck at Hill Farmstead. Make sure you wait and eat at Lost Nation! Great menu, food looked tasty.

There's a trickle of Lost Nation beers down in my area of Mass, but damn, what I really want is to pack up the brewpub and take it with me. The menu is small but the food is top notch. The pork belly sandwich is outstanding, and absolutely recommended. The brie cheese starter is simple and I think it's that that really clues you in to the rest of the experience. It's just bread, cheese, greens and a tart fruit sauce, but everything is presented nicely, the flavors of each item stand out. Really impressed with the Petit Ardennes pale ale, though wish we could have tried a few more beers as they were out of a bunch the last time we went. Service is quick and friendly
My family has been here a couple of times and I'll absolutely go out of my way to go here again next time we're up in north VT.

Can't believe I forgot to rate this place after visiting with judkinst on a motorcycle trip through Smuggler's Notch! Fantastic food, as expected, with the grilling and preparing being outside on the patio as it was a beautiful summer day. Top notch, fresh beers, as is also to be expected. Had the Gose and Mosaic IPA, both incredible and pair well with almost any menu option. Great vibe and location. Service on the patio was better than inside, where the dude was pretty sketch.

Funky location and, if you are a first timer, kinda interesting to get to but perserverance pays off. Glad I did and got this stamp for my beer trail. Food is wonderful and interesting menu. Just Vermont friendly and busy in a good way with lot's of folks who I could tell really enjoyed getting some good beers with friends. I will go back next time I am in the area this spring. look forward to it and so should you. Go!

The vibe here is pretty chill, The service is very good. The selection was very good. I hung out here with a few friends for several hours one day and it was a great time. I wouldn't mind going back and doing the same all over again someday.
