Visited today. Epic draft list, excellent food. Music was a bit dodgy.

While we were staying in this lovely little burg outside of Burlington, we enjoyed visiting the Mule Bar, where they have an extremely good Tap List for such a small place! Beers they chose to have on tap were above average quality, for sure!

I am a big fan of mule bar for craft beer. They have a nice selection of craft beer on draft. They have really maneuvered through the pandemic with there takeout window. Right now they are doing mostly outdoor seating. The food is great, I always try to make a stop when I go to the beverage warehouse. Oh, and if they still have the chicken philly on the menu when you visit. It...is...a...must...try!

Not a bad place, but not worth coming out to Winooski for either. If you are here already, fine. Overpriced, especially for the food (that's trying too hard to be really upscale). Nice, Scandanavian looking interior- sleek and pale wood, and a few tables outside on the busy street in nice weather. The bartender seems to know his menu, but didn't seem all that willing to discuss beer in general. I'm not from the area, but knew I wanted the Abner- he just shrugged and said, "well, it's Abner- I'd pick something else". Meh. The place is terminally, over-the-top hipster, and filled with lots of (very) young types who haven''t a clue about beers. That's all well and good, just didn't seem like a destination place to me. Burlington has better.

Excellent selection of craft beer, especially of Vermont brews. Friendly and knowledgeable bartender, a pleasure to talk beer with. Great service. All the food we've had here is terrific. The burger ordered medium-rare was actually cooked properly unlike in so many places. Small bar/restaurant with some outside seating (only negative to the outside seating is it's a busy street).

An absolutely stellar beer centered bar that doesn't joke around with what beers they get. Always a great vibe with the noise level never too high or too low - just always feels spot on whenever I go in here. Good amount of Vermont beers and the other ones that rotate in and out might even knock your socks off. Recommend. Also, Andrew the bartender left to start Good Measure Brewing Company which I need to make a trip out to Northfield to check them out since I have had their really good beers too.

This place was my go-to spot when I lived in Burlington and Winooski a few years prior to my move to Boston.
Beer - Solid selection and they constantly rotate the draft selection. They do serve Heady Topper and Focal Banger -- and also have a fairly impressive selection of craft can beers. Also -- fantastic selection of Scandinavian brews. The head bartender here has received rewards over the years for being one of the best bartenders and mixologists in the area. These guys know the beers -- just tell them what you are looking for and they will find it for you. Great food too especially during the a summer and fall when you can sit outside. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Really small place on a corner. Cozy, but can probably get pretty cramped in the evening.
The taplist was, once again in Vermont, nuts. Not a huge amount of beers on tap, but just quality all the way through. A couple of Hill Farmsteads and a nice varied list.
Now, the main reason I loved this place was, besides the beer, the service. Paul the bartender was awesome, really welcoming and friendly. We exchanged beer tips for our respective places. All round, just a great guy. I would be back just to talk to him. Talked to a couple of other guys, one of whom also worked there sometimes. Just great, genuine guys.
The food was also very good, had the quesedillas, that were just the right amount of spice and cheese.
This place was amazing, I was sorry I had to leave, but I WILL be back.

Nice cozy little bar. It's just a short walk from 4 Quarters, and therefore a good place to stop before or after for a bite to eat. And a beer, if you so desire. It's also an easy walk from Winooski Beverage, if you're coming from the other direction. No surprise VT taplist (aka mostly or all great stuff). Good service, good food, no nonsense. All around a no-brainer visit if you're in the area.

Mule Bar, Winooski. Not far from the Waterworks, and almost right next door to the Monkeyhouse and Sneakers. When the weather is good you'll find everyone out at the picnic tables, and enjoying the weather and outdoor dining that runs down the street.
The building doesn't look like much, but they've done the inside up nicely with lots of wood: floor, ceiling, seemingly everywhere. Somehow that works, and it's got a crisp, clean, modern look.
As you enter the bar is on the right with about 14 seats, and there are tables to the left that seat about 16, so it's a small place. If you're lucky there will be seats at the bar where you'll get to interact with the bartender, otherwise you're off on your own.
They claim that the beer list is constantly changing, as many places do... but it truly does rotates here! Hallelujah! 16 taps is it? There are some good locals, but they're are also beers from across the country and occasional imports, seemingly without bias. More importantly they seem to make a great effort to keep the draft list balanced as opposed to some places I know where "it's IPA or sour or get out!"
Food is burgers and sandwiches + fish and chips for the most part, but well done. Try the Bahn Mi! Yes!!! And of course, being in Vermont the cheese and meat plate is something special; and of course there's also poutine being so close to Canada. Is it pricey? Yes and no. Their Fish N' Chips is $16 but it's very good, whereas I just paid $12 on Friday night for what I think were two pieces of Gorton's fish sticks over a bed of crisped-to-leather "chips"... so what's the better deal? That said, I'm recommending the food. And I guess, in general I'm recommending it over all, so I'll just stop at that.

Great little bar situated in the ever-growing little town of Winooski. Awesome staff, awesome beer selection, and a fantastic menu really set this place high and above any other bar in the area.

Visited on a Friday night and while busy it wasn't packed. Definitely not a college bar. Very cozy corner bar, would love to have one on Virginia. They a great tap list of about a dozen beers including several from Hill Farmstead, Unibroue, Lawson's Red Spruce Bitter as well as several cans including Heady and Focal.
Sat at the bar and staff was helpful and attentive. We only had an app to go with our beers but it was delicious. Would definitely visit again, a great neighborhood bar.

Stumbled into this place on a weekend layover in Burlington. Didn't do the "gastro" part, but the pub was excellent. Scott is knowledgeable and engaging without being pushy. And his enthusiasm for the industry and the product is contagious. Very fine selection of drafts local and not. And the bonus is the cocktaill menu, for which he has equal knowledge and skill. Highly recommend.

Can't beat a place where you walk in Friday night after the VT Brewers Festival and they have 13 HF beers on tap.

Great little stop while in town for a visit. Nice atmosphere, very clean and a great tap/bottle list. We didn't try any food but the bar tender was great and the beers were all solid. Had a few cans of Heady Topper and hit the road. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

This is probably the bar I go to most often in the Burlington/Winooski area. Great tap list, cozy seating, outdoor seating in the summer, friendly knowledgable staff. Not really a college hang out either, at least not on the nights I go, so I can always grab a drink and a seat and actually talk with the people I'm out drinking with. Highly recommend it.
