Notes / Commercial Description:
Troublesome's meaner cousin will flail your tongue as hard as he can, but being such a little guy, you'll probably just pucker a bit. Spawned through an overnight kettle souring with our house lactobacillus culture, the wort emerges furious at what we did to it. Then, just because, we pitch a saison yeast and allow it to free rise to it's further distain. It comes out angrier than... uh, angrier than... well, something really angry. But at 3.8% ABV there's no reason for you to be too afraid.

The ancient taste of northern Germany gives Chicago a visit, adapt with a short wheat backbone and jaw-locking sourness. Think of it as a wheat beer with a mean streak.

Fierce pours innocent enough- its bright canary yellow color exudes the character of cleanliness and crispness. Its quick wisping head dissolves quickly underneath its sharp acidity. And that acidity brightens as the nose draws near. Its tangy lemony scent carries over seamlessly in taste as the jaws tighten and salivation ensues.

Its early bready taste and texture dissolves quickly and allows the clean lactic acidity to intensify with its sour lemon-drop flavor. Consequent sips wash over the middle with cider, dry chardonay, dried citrus and a lightly musty cork-like nature.

Its dry and vinous finish leads to a quick aftertaste, leaving behind a bright limey acidic taste that's beautifully sour and brilliantly clean. Echoes of light bread return long after the taste has concluded. Its simply an excellent thirst quencher.

This beer pours a clear glowing yellow body with a thin boiling head of white that fades to a ring but is supported by a quick little carbonation. The nose is a nice bright fruity tartness with a hint of pale malt as it opens. The taste has more bright fruity tartness wit a soft carbonic acid note in the clean finish. The mellow but crisp little fizz enhances the tartness but there is no astringency to it.

This beer has a nice fruity tartness and does seem a bit simplistic in my description but it is a great summer beer that is very quaftable. It has enough interesting character to make it worth a session.

Pale pastel yellow, slight haze and a thin layer of white foam on the surface.

Aroma has a tart lactic note and minerally wheat, as well as an indistinct berry note.

Taste follows suit with tart puckering lacto, and a berryish gooseberry note in the middle, it's not sweet but lends a subtle fruitiness. Crisp, tart and dry. Very light and drinkable, it was gone before I blinked twice. Lends itself well to summer six pack drinking.

A: The beer is hazy pale light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that died down but has excellent retention properties and consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of lactic acid and sourness are present in the nose.
T: As in the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of lactic acid but isn't overly sour. Only slight amounts of wheat are noticeable.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and slightly creamy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite easy to drink given its light body and the fact that it isn't that sour.

In a teku the beer was a hazy pale yellow color. There was a good sized white head.
Lemon aroma, some other citrus, and grass.
Sour lemon taste, some lime, some funk.
Just the right amount of tartness for me.

L: Pours straw gold with a light haze under a 1” white foam cap that drops to a thick film.

S: Lemony citrus with very light bread.

T: A big dose of lemon and orange tartness – mostly lemon, with shortbread biscuit in the background.

F: Has a light, airy mouth filling texture with above average carbonation.

O: the summer beer for sitting on a patio while watching people walk by.

Poured a very hazy straw color with a two finger head that surprisingly sticks around, decent lacing. I couldn't find any date on the 12 oz bottle, but it's the first time I've ever seen it at Coastal, so I'm banking on the fact that it's fresh. Smell is tart, sweet malts barely sneak through. The flavor is absolutely fantastic, easily one of the best Berliner Weissbiers I've had. Super tart notes throughout from the lacto souring. Biscuit and hay from the malts and yeast, hints of mouth puckering lemon. Finishes a bit sticky and lighter bodied. Overall a great representation of a style that's making a comeback thanks to US craft breweries.

Huge fluffy white head, good retention. Translucent yellow brew, very active, with a hint of cloudy sediment.

Fairly subdued aroma, with a slightly funky aroma.

Tastes like watered down vinegar, slightly milky and rustic. Quite tasty.

Slick medium feel, active on the backend.

A - Pours a very pale straw yellow, clear with a nice white foamy head.
S - The aroma is mildly sour.
T - Initially salty, then some lemony tartness
M - Crisp and refreshing with above average carbonation.
O - Low ABV is a plus as you can drink a few of these with no worries. Another really good beer from my new favorite local brewer.
