Style: Gose

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.30%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Most brewers spend a lot of time and effort keeping lactobacillus out of their breweries; it was the first thing we brought in (it still has to stay in the corner though). We blend together two different beers to make Troublesome. The first is a somewhat uninteresting wheat beer and the second is an overly acidic & funky beer fermented solely with lactobacillus. We blend the two beers together with coriander and salt at the tail end of fermentation to create a mild, lemony tartness and a fuller sensation of mouthfeel. And yes, it's hard to make.

Was able to pick up a single for 3 bucks into a pint glass. Such a light yellow hazy watery beer with a 1/2 inch of frothy foam. Smells almost like a Wit with tones of coriander and lemon sourness. Taste is very approachable almost wheat ale like with sour lemon and coriander and a finish of mild salt. Body is awesome it's light but not watery very tasty.

Overall a bit different from the sour latent and heavy salt offerings of the gose style this would actually be a very good start to the style. Very surprised.

This was poured into a stange. The appearance was a slight hazy golden yellow color with a slight transparency to it. Fast carbonation was seen rising to try to fill a one finger soft white foamy head that dissipated to a quarter finger’s worth. The smell was slightly earthy with a sweet vaporous lemon, light graininess/wheat, light coriander, light grape comes through as it warms. The taste was sweet through the wheat and a light lemon and grape combining and then letting in that coriander spice to balance. The salt is there but extremely mild. On the palate, this one sat pretty light and came across extremely sessionable. My tongue does end up feeling a slight sharpness most likely due to the salt but it could also be from the wheat. Overall, a very well done Gose well worthy of having again.

very pale yellow in appearance with a slight haze. Nice lacing, very appealing in appearance. great smell, slightly acidic, fruits, smells a little bit funky. makes me want to take a drink for sure. oh wow, perfect blend of wheat and funk. Totally lacks the usual ouch associated with sours. This beer has the tart taste up front, but it quickly recedes and gives way to wheat. I like this a lot! Also, has a lot more salt than I expected. Almost tastes straight up salty. The salt balances really nicely against the tart. really ace job on this one. light to medium body. quick finish. excellent carbonation. this is a thirst quencher. Very impressed with this beer overall. I have not had many goses, but this beer makes me think i should sample the varietal a bit more intensely. high marks all around.

L: A nice off pearl, light honey, cloudy beer, no head

S: Grapefruit zest, citrusy, acidic, smell radiates from glass

T: Nice zesty citrusy, salty and sweet taste. Tart cactus and grapefruit.

F: A full bodied Gose with good carb and a nice finish. Would like slightly more carb.

O: A great Gose that checks all the boxes.
