Mousetrap location. Here briefly as a stop during a business trip. Nice, roomy bar. Sunday night, not too crowded. Staff helping me seems like a good server, but not very willing to guide someone from out of town with little prior knowledge of the place. Beer is good. I'd come back.

Vibe was very mellow and low-key, even though it was a Friday evening.
I thought the selection was fairly limited.
I didn't enjoy the drinks too much. It was okay at most.

This is the brewery bottle shop on Dickens, not the Mousetrap taproom on Kingsbury.
I've been here a few times for various bottle releases, but never thought of it as a destination based on the location.
That said, the staff is always super helpful and friendly. Beers are in a cooler and cases are available. Swag, shirts, etc. Selection is small but frequently rotates. Freshness is guaranteed, they send out emails when a new beer hits the shop, and keep current inventory on Beermenus.
Bottle releases are always a smooth and effortless experience. Sometimes during bottle releases there are samples offered, but this isn't the norm. Tours are fun and sometimes irreverent. A cool place staffed by cool people, and a fine place to buy beer direct from the brewery.

This is my all-time favorite brewery. Their flagships like Apex and Troublesome are always a welcome sight, (instead of eye-roll eliciting like "boring" flagships at other breweries that I otherwise like but have to scroll quickly past to get to the "good stuff"). Their one-offs and rotaters like Eeek (the Miller collab) and Market Rate (Stawberry wild) and Blueberries Feel Pain are my all-time favorites, and their Dino S'mores (along with Perennial's Abraxas) is the beer that made me care about big stouts again. Their art is such a quirky treat, that I love enough to one day get tattooed on myself and their staff are fun, clever, thoughtful and quick. This is the only brewery that I've ever been to where the cocktails are also as "must-try" as the beers, with a hot winter drink made from Dino S'mores and mescal that is the end-all, be-all snow-on-the-ground beverage, and the innovative matcha green tea cocktail that I had last time I was in. In short, this is the standard by which I judge all others.

I've bought beer in Off Color's bottle shop several times; often finding ales not available in stores, either before or after release. Since they seem to have more fun than any brewer I've studied (I've Had 22 of their beers in, say, 18 months), I've always thought about a Saturday tour. But with difficult scheduling, the bottle shop is good enough as it open on two sides to the brewery with all its steamy smells and clinking. So you get the Feel for the site where some really interesting brews are created.
So for the review: great, fun Vibe (and I recommend their hilarious website); definitely high Quality beers (although consistency can be lacking for a young brewer that loves to experiment); the woman in the bottle shop is totally knowledgable (she helps edit the website); beer Selection is more limited (maybe a dozen brews max and no taps.)
Off Color is opening a taproom this fall near the Whole Foods across from Goose Island (the old manufacturing district, not the brewery.) I look forward to that.
As cross-reference, BA's 8/11/17 weekly newsletter has a story on ancient ales and Off Color is featured.
