Appears deep brown rather than black, though in dim lighting of an attic boothr it's hard to tell how brown. Fine-bubbles beige head leaving lots of lacing on the cylindrical mug. Promising smells of chocolate, liquorice, citrus, cherry, but restrained. Caramel brownie with a good, bitter walnut on top. More citrus zest, plum, red fruits, vanilla, brown sugar. But rounded by a nutty, hop background. Still a bit of cellar-y sourness, live beer funk. Mouthfeel is weighty and milky but in line for a dark lager, not too heavy to have with food and wouldn't trouble you to have a couple.

On-draught in Vilnius in Summer 2014. Reviewed from notes.

HEAD: 3 fingers wide and khaki in colour, with 4 minute retention. Nice lacing. Nice creaminess. Smooth and even. Fluffy. Soft.

BODY: Opaque solid black. No yeast or sediment is visible within. Looks appealing.

AROMA: Dark bread, schwarz malts, cream, dunkel malts. Breadiness dominates.

A pleasant aroma of average strength.

TASTE: Dark malts, schwarz malts/black malts, cream, and dark bread. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. Decently balanced, though not real complex in build. I like it, but it's a bit rudimentary.

TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, filling, medium-bodied, moderately thick, lightly creamy, and well-carbonated. Suits the taste decently.

OVERALL: Drinkable but largely unremarkable fare. I wouldn't get it again, but it's a nice enough schwarzbier for what it is.

Almost black, just some mahogany edges. Off-white foam, quite beautiful, not too much.
In the smell a good toastiness and maltiness, clean, with touches of green herbal. Not bad.
At the taste it is simple, clean correct. Toasted malt, grassy hints.
Easily drinkable.
Light body, with a pleasant toastiness in the aftertaste.
