really nice take on the style here, verboten is a pretty awesome brewery, way ahead of the new brewery curve, and beers like this one keep proving that. it looks the part, pale wheat colored brew with milky haze to it and a substantial head, just off white and wispy. the nose has a really neat herbal property that goes beyond coriander. there are some hops in this one too, which you never really see in the style. the nose shows a little tangy kick, but its much more sour in taste than in smell. salt is middle of the spectrum here, all in the finish, making it both dry and mouthwatering at the same time. its quite sour, but not in the usual hyper acidic respect, and i like that a lot. less of the lemon lacto and more of a younger profile, keeps it drinkable and super refreshing. its a style of beer that is incredibly in vogue right now, a few years ago there were just a couple on the market, and now they are as prevalent as anything else. i feel like people just realized kettle souring isnt real tough to do, and thats great. its tough to stand out from the crowd though, and this one does an excellent job of distinguishing itself. i could drink ten of these easy.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a cloudy, straw-blonde coloring, with a filmy, clingy, white head. Nose of subtle floral notes, salty highlights, and toasted grains. Flavors are salty forward, with a floral and subtle caramel and bread backbone. Crisp and clean, with a salty, semisweet aftertaste. The finish is crisp and clean. Refreshing beer.
